Go to your bios setup...press delete key or f2 while the system is rebooting....in the bios...look for shadowing and disable it.

Anybody know how to enable the AGP slot on an IBM NetVista 8305? Thanks.

1.
Shut down your computer and reboot to the BIOS. Reach the BIOS by pressing the Access IBM button on your keyboard or by pressing the F11 key.
2.
Use the arrow keys to scroll though the options to locate the video VGA graphic chip set. Follow the onscreen instructions to save the new BIOS settings.
3.
Turn off the machine after the BIOS settings have been saved. Unplug the power cord from the electrical socket.
4.
Open the side access panel of the Net Vista. On some models the panel will slide off; on others you may have to loosen the two thumbscrews holding it in place. If you have a desktop configuration instead of a tower, slide the top cover off the machine.
5.
Remove the existing AGP graphics card from the machine. You may need to use a screwdriver to remove the screw holding the card in place.
6.
Locate the proper slot for the new card. The new card may use the same AGP slot or use a PCI slot. If necessary, remove the dust cover for the selected slot with a screwdriver.
7.
Slide the new card into the slot. Screw the holding screw into place if the card requires one.
8.
Plug your monitor into the connection on the card. Plug the machine into the power source and turn the Net Vista on. Follow the onscreen instructions for installing the proper drivers if needed by your operating system. Replace the side panel when everything is working properly

Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

My system is not going to bios set up iam getting a error message 177 system keyboard locked (my system model no is 6842-s2j ibm net vista desktop)

Okay, Do you have an ESD Bracelet? They are about Ten Dollars. You need to reset BIOS by removing the C-MOS (Complementry Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) battery and keeping it out for thirty seconds. Replace it and BIOS will be reset, and so will of the BIOS settings. If you need more detailed instructions please tell me!

*WARNING*
If you open your computer unsafely you can short the drive causing permanent data loss or system damage!!

IBM M51 ThinkCentre doesn t recognize 4gig installed memory

You can confirm this in the BIOS and i'm sure it will show 4GIG. Your Operating system maybe a 32 BIT OS, hence it will only show about 3... GIG. It's a limitation for a 32 BIT OS.

DVD hardrive problem

Do you check the setting of your hard drive? It seems that you have already another hard drive (HD) install which is working already were your operating system install. Try to put the 2nd HD setting in slave position. Follow instruction that is written at the back of HD. Your computer should read the 2nd HD as slave and will see it as drive: F or G and so on.
