    hi
i'm not so good will electronics but i can readily purchase replacement parts for the machine.
When it starts it clicks through the cycle like nothing is wrong and makes all the correct noise till it gets to the wash cycle then it just sits there. If I turn it to cancel 0 on the dial it will flick through the cycle and back to the start ready to be restarted. The detergant door opens when it should as it is resetting.
    Cheers

The dishwasher is filled with water ready for use from our solar hotwater it is set to the kleenmaid recomendations so it is not too hot for the unit. I think the problem is that water is not going in. I have put water in the bottom prior to a load and it does the prewash on an cycle[not an economy cycle] and the water will go through the spray arms but the of coure it is empty and stops at the wash.

I will test these things and get back to you if necessary.

Can anyone tell me where exactly the float[appearently inside cabinet] in a dw3 is. I'v found the switch and tested it it is OK. There is a silver button inbetween the heating element although I would assume it is a thermostat as all wiring is joined to the heating element. The bottom picture shows the silver button between the elements.

At the moment it is on a wash cycle and running fine as I manually filled the cabinet with water. It always drains well. I've also tested the the filling water-inlet valves on ohms x1 with readings not changing at all! Is this the problem.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, I am tempted to think that there is no major component that would require replacement. At most would be the door close sensor/switch. May I suggest a simple test, jump the two wires leading to the switch and try. In the event that there would be 3 wires leading to the door switch, what is required to be jumped/shorted would be those that are normally open when the door is open and engages when the door is closed. To determine which is which, a conitnuity tester (DVM/VOM) would be required.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Check that the water inside the machine it is heating up, if it is not heating, then that is the reason why cycle does not complete.

If the cicle gets stuck in the middle, that is often because the heating element is defective.

The machine thermostate does not detect the right temperature had been reached and the cicle does not progress.

In this case there is need to access to the heating element and test it for continuity, and eventually replace it.

If you think that this had been helpful, then please rate the solution.

      Many thanks.

To fix the problem you need to access to the heating element that is inside the machine.

There you remove the element and test its resistance using a multimeter : Multimeter.

If resistance is infinite, the element is bad.

If element is good you need to test water inlet valve and impeller pump/water level switch.

If water is not going in that may be more complicate to test and fix.

Water comes from the faucet at the back through the inlet valve, that opens up when there no voltage .

There is need to test the inlet valve by energizing it, and this must be done with live AC power in the appliance, therefore is risky, and should not be done by home user.

You can alternatively check if there is water from the supply at the back, also check the floating switch, and eventually replace the inlet valve without testing it.

This wont give you 100% chance to fix the problem, but it is the most likely cause when no water is getting into the machine.

Check also that the floating sensor for the water level switch is not stuck in up position, that will cause same problem.

your comment indicates wash impeller is stripped out or broken off. The wash impeller is
attached to the motor & is what distributes the water through the
pump & out the spray arms. I would recommend checking the wash
      impeller & wash motor assembly.

    Kleenmaid DW3 dishwasher not running.

    HI,

If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

    Water-inlet valve
    Float switch
Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

I have a Bosch Exxcel washing machine which is great but it bleeps for ever and a day when the wash is finished. How do I silence the beeps without having to get up?

Switch machine on but do not program.
    Press and hold PREWASH button.
After a few seconds it begins beeping.
Keep holding PREWASH button in until beep gets quiet
    then eventually stops.
Hope this helps - Colin, Billericay Essex

User Manual of Asea Cylinda 1200 Dishwasher

One of these was in my house when I moved in, still have the manual. Very efficient dishwasher.
A is a prewash (machine will stop after it). Manual says it's meant to rinse stuff while you wait until you've filled the machine to run a full wash.
D is economy wash. Water is heated according to the switch you select on the front.
C is a prewash that will continue on to D (normal cycle). Water is at incoming temp.
B is another prewash that will continue on the C etc (heavy cycle). Like C, water is at incoming temp.
E is dry cycle. Heating element is on/off depending on switch on the front (dunno why you'd turn it off..)
While turning the dial, push it in and it will stop exactly at the start of theach cycle.
Mine has stopped emptying, think the pump has died, looking for a replacement..

    Kleenmaid DW3 dishwasher not running.

Hello, this isn't a fix, but if you can't get the dishwasher fixed, I am interested in purchasing the cutlery baskets off you, if they are still in reasonable condition. Mine has plenty of breaks in the base and the handles poke through, which affects the lower spray arm rotation. Please reply through another post if you're selling. Thanks.
