Question about Canon IXUS 860 IS Digital Camera
A black circle approx 1cm in diameter has appeared on the lcd screen of my ixus 860, is it repairable?
the spot doesnt show up in the pictures but it is a hindrance when taking photos
Well, not sure if you got it resolved yet but the same thing happened to me. Brought it back and got it fixed under warranty. You'll most likely see more gray circles appear over time. They don't affect the picture but they are annoying.

Use a hair dryer at a distance and at the same time use some Moisture-absorbing chemicals such as silica gel, activated alumina, anhydrous calcium sulfate and molecular sieves. These chemicals can be difficult to find. Your must find an industrial chemical supplier or contact your local high school or college science dept.
Keep the camera along with the chemicals and it is possible that it will be absorbed.
Thank you for using Fixya.
