Why does my computer screen keep going blank

Has there been any damage? Is the monitor disply timing out due to settings? You didn't post your OS, a Windows 7 solution: Open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set Turn off Display time, set Sleep to Never, set dim to 100% olugged in, select Change Advanced Power settings, scrool though and set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Power Buttons and Lid to Shut Down, Display set to your preference. On battery your laptop will have default setting to conserve Battery power.

My linovo3000 g430 laptop is dimm disply how to find out problem

In this case it could be as simple as a display setting. It could be the small cable that links the main board to the lcd or it could be something as complex as the board or lcd themselves. Do you know how to change any of your display settings? Is the unit using the battery when this happens or is it plugged into your power supply? When a laptop is running on the battery it will dim if it is set to in order to save battery life. Does this occur constantly or is there a change when you slightly open and close the screen?

Laptop powers on disk light flickers & does not start up. The fan is working.Blank screen, when connected to external screen still no output

upon turning the computer on keep hitting the F8 key and see if a repair screen appears. If not the hard drive is gone or the disply is at fault

Year old advent netbook 4211b will not turn on,

When you press power button press F1 or F2 or "del" key if you can see bios screen then you not need to refix RAM memory or reset bios.
IF you can see bios screen then lake sure harddisk is detected and SATA is disable then save settings and exit.
Also when you power up press F8 key if you able to see safe mode and other menu then you have change screen resolution enter in enable vga mode.
Then open control panel and display then change scree resolution to 1024*768.
Then apply and ok.
But if you can't see bios screen or nothing in dispaly then you have to refix RAM memory .
Check in back side there is 1 plate open it then refix RAM memory.
If still not get display then open back cover of laptop then find motherbord on it then pull cmos cell for 10 minutes so all settings go to defaults then again refix cmos cell then check.

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

HP Pavillion dv9000 screen disply problem

Try starting up in Safe mode by pressing F8 as soon as you see the HP logo on the screen at startup, then choose safe mode.

If there are colors within safe mode, try going to Start-->Right click on My Computer and go to Manage.

From there go to device manager on the left side and on the right side click the plus next to Display adapters

Under there right click and uninstall all display adapters, then reboot

Windows should reinstall all drivers for the display and hopefully will correct the issue

The power indicator turns on but there's no display and still there's no response with the motherboard

Hi, my daughters had the same problem, this might be hard to explain, when you open your laptop way at the bottom of the screen there is a little prong that goes in to the key board to let the laptop know its opened you need to get a tooth pick and just poke it lightly and screen will turn on again! Just like when you open the refigerator door and the light comes on, in your case the button is sticking.
hope this helps.
GOD BLESS

Point the mouse in the blank screen then RIGHT CLICK THE MOUSE in select properties then select SCREEN SAVER click POWER in the power scheme select never for all options and also check the screen saver setting or disable the screen saver for the mean time.
