White line at top of tv screen & picture flips back over itself

32PT5441 Panasonic tv, the white line is getting progressively bigger at the top of the screen and the picture seems to flip back over on itself. The only option a servicer gave us was to send it in for diagnosis then they would "see" if it was repairable, please help.....

I HAVE A HALF SCREEN. BOTTOM HALF LOOKS GOOD TOP HALF HAS WHITE LINES WITH A BIGGER WHITE LINE SEPARATING THE TWO. IS THE PICTURE TUBE GONE OR IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT I CAN MAKE? TV IS A RCA F25645

This is commonly known as a vertical deflection problem. It cannot be fixed with an adjustment, but requires changing some electronic components. Namely the vertical output IC (integrated circuit) and in addition usually in this model a resistor which may appear to be burned.

Horizontal white lines across top of TV screen

Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps. It solved our problem.

TV Problem

No. Are the lines white or black? Does the picture look distorted at the top? Is there a chance it is still under warranty? It sounds like a problem in the vertical retrace circuit. Probably a capacitor near an IC that's used for timing. You shouldn't be having this issue already. A tech should be able to see a distorted waveform in the vertical section. Hope this helps.

suspect it's 1 or a couple of bad capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit the caps are in the 400 series, c400,c401,c402, etc... check or replace c414,c418 & c417
