Wont print I replaced the in cartridges on the cx 5000 and the printer is still showing that the cyan and yellow low or out. The ink light stays on and I have tried the troubleshooting that I found on the epson website but no luck.

You need to restart your printer once.
if still shows same then you need to take off your cartridges out and put back again that may fix this problem.

This model printer has only two slots for ink cartridges. One is for a black ink cartrigde and the other is for a tri-color cartridge which contains cyan, magenta and yellow inks.
This tri-color cartridge has run out of yellow ink, you need to replace this tri-color cartridge.

I replaced an ink cartridge because the printer stopped working and showed a message that the old cartridge is empty. However after putting the new one in but the printer still refuses to work and shows...

maybe the cartridge is wrong, release it and clean the electrical contacts, put them again one by one, if notting happen, try this
Solution As the printer operates, it moves ink from the ink cartridges into a printhead reservoir. The printer does not deliver a message when an ink cartridge goes empty, because it still has ink in the reservoir. The printer continues printing until the ink level in the reservoir falls to a first trigger point - then a message appears advising the printer owner to Replace Cartridges Soon . At this point, other cartridges that are empty but have not reached the trigger point are also mentioned in the message, to save trips to the retailer. After the first trigger point, the printer can continue printing until ink levels in the reservoir reach a second trigger point. At the second trigger point there is only enough ink left to perform vital servicing tasks, and a new message appears, saying Ink Cartridges Empty . The options offered depend on the usable inks remaining. If no options are offered, the cartridges indicated must be replaced before printing can continue. The Ink Cartridges Empty options are described in the table below: Ink colors out Option Print mode possible All Cancel None Black

AND

Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all) Black only Continue with other colors Cyan/Magenta/Yellow mode (composite black)

Text and photo quality will differ from those printed when all colors are available Light Cyan or Light Magenta (either or both) Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all)

My brother printer not working well

Are you using Genunine Cartridges!!!!

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.


These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......


I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

I changed all Print cartridges-Black, Yellow,Cyan,Blue

On this machine you have to install inks with power on and use the ink button and choose replace ink. If you just plug them in it won't register and reset the counts. You may need to run clean cycles at least twice to get proper colors.

Wont print with all new ink cartridges

If the error message is only "magenta/cyan low", it doesn't cause any error. The low message stays after replacing ink cartridges if they're replaced too early (before they're indicated as actually empty), it doesn't cause the printer to not work.
However, some other problem might be faulty, or there might be another error message. Try emptying printer queue and print from Ink Management -> Menu/set (twice) to check wether the problem is with communication from pc or if the printer actually is unable to print.

Cyan or yellow ink cartridge light stays on. Can not print.

I had this problem after I ran a print cartridge out of ink on my HP business inkjet 1200. The Print color light stayed on solid, and would not print.  After much frustration and trying many other things, I purged the air from the print cartridge pump, and that cleared the problem. To get rid of the air (which I could see through the translucent wall of the pump) I inserted a syringe needle (without the syringe) into the nozzle of the cartridge, and expelled some ink with the air. This is messy, so I recommend gloves. I have been refilling my cartridges for years.
