Hi kathy. this is an easy one. first of all you will need a spark plug gapping tool, about a dollar at any auto parts store. Your chain saw most likely calls for PLUG TYPE: Champion CJ6 SPARK PLUG GAP: 0.025 in. (0.63 mm).

Here is the website of a short video to show you exactly how to gap the spark plug. write back if you need any more info.

Thank you for the kind words. Did you succeed in gaping your plug and did the chain saw start after that? Let me know as I can suggest a few other things that might make your saw start and run better. take care... Joe

What oil to gas ratio

Most newer chainsaws and small 2 stroke gas gardening tools use a 50:1 older chain saws use 40:1. If you don't know just use 40:1 your saw will only smoke a bite. Use hi test gas and good quality oil

What spark plug to use in super xl auto mine doesn't seem to have enough power .

About .030". Remove the muffler if you can and look to see if the piston is all scored up. You may be using garbage gas or mix oil as well.

What is the oil to gas ratio for homelite model 360?

I cannot find the full details for the model 360 chain saw but a typical Homelite chain saw uses the 50/1 gas/oil ratio.
1 gallon (US) 2,6 oz
1 litre 20 cc (20 ml)

If you want to download the user manual for your chain saw then please check the full model number . for example UTxxx and select this in the Homelite site.

I have an old homelite super xl saw and what i need to know is the high and low adjustments as well as spark plug gap

For the high and low speed jets turn all the way in and turn counter clockwise 1 1/4 turns to start with and continue a bit more until the saw runs a max speed(go by ear) and idling speed(idle down enough so chain does not spin while finger off triger). For the spark plug gap, go about 20 thousands of an inch. I hope this helps you out.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode. HTH

I don't have access to an Operator's Manual and they don't appear to be available on line, I checked several different Homelite models at Chain Saw Collectors Corner. All said 0.025". HTH
