Question about Nintendo Super NES Console

Snes works at game testing store, but not my tv. What's going on?

Ok, I bought a Snes from a pawn shop, tested it out, and it worked just fine on their tv. I bring it home, set all the settings to the right place (channel 3, cables input to correct area, things like that) and I get a black screen with about 4 horizontal lines coming across. I tried other games and I get the EXACT same picture. I don't get it! If it worked at the game testing place, why not at my house? I also tried it on the other tv's in my family's home, and I get the same thing. I tried a Gamecube AV (or was it RV?) cable into it, and I got the exact thing. I then tried hooking it up to where I'd put my cable. Same thing. I then tried my VCR and DVD player. SAME THING!? What's going on?

Nintendo solved the problem with the whole "you gotta blow the dust off the card and jam the game in right to play" thing when they brought out the SNES.

But in time, well, you gotta blow off the games.

Use your old NES Ninja tricks to get it to work. Blow the games out, blow out the slot. It should make it work.

Good luck man!

Try cleaning kits from Ebay, they help clean out your stuff for play.

Captain Jake is wrong, blowing games is bad. Why? Because the pins are made of copper, and copper can't stand the carbon dioxide emitted from your mouth. No matter what, NEVER blow on it.

My SNES won't turn on aside from the power light.

Potential mistakes, Coaxle cable not screwed on tightly or wire inside is missing. Tv is on channel 3 i'm assuming, If it's not as simple those open them up, should be some screws on the bottom, and just make sure everything is plugged in look for anything that shouldn't be clean it then plug it in and try it again before taking anything apart, Old consoles are touchy, use isopropyl alcohol to clean anything connected to the motherboard or that will conduct.

Try to wash one of your disks with dishwashing soap, just one is enough to do the cleaning. Start mixing the disks when they dont work, this will clean the lens. i had the same problem, worked fine for me.

SNES works but no color.

Sounds like your AV Multi-out port circuitry is shot. Yest it with an RF adapter, and if it works perfect with an RF adapter, that is the source of your troubles. I'm afraid that the cheapest solution is to buy a SNES motherboard (about $20.00), which is a lot cheaper than a repair shop soldering in new components to fix it. It's not something you can do on your own.. Google SNES Motherboards type 1 or 2

Sega gennis with no sound

The problem is the two cables for each system are different,
you need to find a used genesis cable
probably pick one up for a few bucks at a game trade store or a pawn shop!

Snes is broken - won't power on

I'm having the same problem currently actually...wtf SNES! I actually bought a second SNES because I thought my old one was permanently broken but as soon as I got the NEW one in the house the OLD one booted back up... the only thing I can guess is that it burns out from time to time because of the age.
