Two new batteries, won't hold charge

Recently we had to put a new fuse in the starter ???????????? What fuse ? location , size . A fuse blowing means a electrical short to ground .

Your tempermental starting problem could be the park neutral safety switch . They get worn inside an cause this type problem . Next time it won't start place gear selector into neutral an see if it starts then . The cooling running problem is probably the cooling fan timer module . From the diagram it's hard to say which side the A/C condenser fan is on. The A/C fan has blue with yellow stripe wire in the connector along with a black one . I would also suggest you have a qualified repair shop do a voltage drop test on the starting circuit .

Either unlock the drivers door with the key, or turn the ignition on and try to start the car. one or the other should disarm the alarm

please check your alternator (dynamo ampere) input voltage, the voltage must be 12V when you turn on the light, air conditioner, etc.

With the engine running are you getting any voltage off the alternator? check with a multimeter. Check voltage at battery while running should be 13 volts or more.

If you manage to get it started, check the alternator output...I'm betting it is bad. Should be making no less than 12.5 with accessories all on, 13.5 to 14 with just engine running. Bad alt can drain battery even when off depending what failed inside it. Towing with a chain is not really a good idea. the cross pin in those differentials are not very good and can fail.

Possible solution. It could be the belt tensioner. It might not hold the belt tight enough to have a consistent charge to the battery through the alternator. I had to replace the one on my 91 accord and that solved my problem.

either your alternator has gone or your fan belt is not there which helps the alternator to charge the battery get a volt meter on your alternator to see if it is kicking out what it should be

Check your battery. Flip up the red cover on the positive side of the battery and inspect the battery post for corrosion. If you see a white buildup, remove the cables and clean the terminals with a wire brush. Remove the covers from the top of the battery and check the acid level. If the level is low add distilled water. Put the battery on charge at low amperage for a few hours. If the battery does not hold the charge, you will have to replace it.

PS: If you disconnect the battery cables you will need to reset your radio. Honda provides a 5 digit code to reset. If you bought the car new it came via mail on a small card.
