Question about Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

1 Answer

Internet Explorer doesn't load pages

I can open IE to my homepage but after I click on a certain number of links or open a certain number of pages I get an error. 404 Not Found and it redirects me to a page browser-security.microsoft.com. I wanted to see if it was a problem isolated in IE so I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. Everything works fine there. I just want to know why this is happening.

Actually, I just saw it again. The address for the page it redirects me to is wwwh.found-not-help.com/ and it says "Sorry, 'browser-security.microsoft.com' does not exist or is not available." But I'm not trying to go to that page at all! I follow the same links in Firefox and everything opens fine there. Help please!

Make yahoo my homepage

This depends on which browser you are using.
For Internet Explorer:
Click the tools menu (the gear button in the upper right of the window)
Click 'Internet Options' On the 'General' tab, the first option is to change your homepage. Input yahoo's web address in the box and that will be your new homepage.
For Chrome:
Click the toolbar icon (the button with three horizontal bars in the upper right of the window). Click 'Settings', and then under 'Startup' select the option to 'Open a specific page or set of pages', and click 'set pages' where you can input yahoo's web address.
For Firefox:
Similar process to IE, select 'Settings'=>'General'=>'Startup'=>input web address.
Other browsers likely have a similar process.
Have a nice day.

  4. Go to toolbar at the top of browser, and click on "Tools", then "Internet Options".
    1. If the "tools" option is missing, press the ALT key on your keyboard and it should pop up.

I Want BING HAS MY HOME PAGE

The is done differently in different browsers. The three most common are Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. I'll list the steps for each.

Internet Explorer:
  1. Make sure you've closed all open tabs, then open Internet Explorer for the desktop.

  2. Click Tools, and or click Internet options.

Under the General tab, enter the web address of your new home page, and then click Apply.

Firefox:

  1. Open the web site you want to set as your home page. If you want a blank home page, open a new tab.
  2. Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button, and release.
  3. Click Yes to set this as your home page.

Chrome:

  1. Click the Chrome menu snp_2696434_en_v1 on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
    • Set your homepage
When the "Show Home button" checkbox is selected, a web address appears below it. If you want the Homepage button to open up a different webpage, click Change to enter a link.
