Dishwasher will not Drain

The drain hose is fine. I hear some grinding when it is supposed to drain. I also found some porcelain about the size of some broken down pork chop bones under the grill inside the dishwasher. Turf it???

Some of that porcelain is in the pump which drains the dishwasher. This is an easy job but you will need a phillips head screw driver.

Remove the lower front panel and you will see the drain hose. The end of the drain hose at the base of the dishwasher is connected to the drain pump. Loosen the clamp and remove the drain hose. Check the hose for pieces of porcelain. Next remove the drain pump and look inside of it. I am quite sure you will find a piece of porcelain in there. Remove it and reconnect everything. That should solve your problem.

Dishwasher will not drain I think it:s the pump

It will help if you provide the make and model of dishwasher. There can be several reasons for dishwasher not draining. The most common is blocked filters or drain hose. Also ensure the kitchen side of drain is clear. If pump is running but making grinding sounds then something is blocking the drain pump. If you do not hear pump running sound then the dishwasher may not even be getting to the drain cycle for other reasons.

Intake / drain does not drain

verify you hear the pump running when it is supposed to be draining. If you don't hear the pump running, then you probably need to have a service person come out.

If you can hear it running, then then check the drain hose going to the kitchen sink drain if that is where it drains to. I have seen it where the rubber drain hose was left too long and when the dishwasher was push into place, it kinked the hose, preventing it from draining.

Our dishwasher is brand new and the first time we tried to use it, the water didn't drain, so I ran through the cancel instructions, and it's still not draining

Make sure there are no kinks in the drain hose. Remove the hose at the sink drain and make sure the barb fitting on the sink drain is open into the drain interior. Can you hear the pump run when it is supposed to? If all else fails, call the folks that sold the machine to arrange service for it.

My Whirlpool dishwasher will wash fine, but when it drains, it's a slow trickle. I've snaked the line from the sink to the washer, but I can't find a clog. If I try to blow into the drain pipe all I...

Ok, don't fret too bad, help maybe just reading.

Disconnect the drain hose from the sink/garbage disposal, get a big bucket, stick hose in bucket, making sure that end of drain hose does not get lower then the bottom of dishwasher. Turn dishwasher on (to drain mode if possible or just wait for drain mode) and see if water drains like it is supposed to, if not (and drain hose is not blocked with grease) then either drain solenoid is bad, not opening drain trap all the way or your drain pump is defective.

Did you just replace the garbage disposal, common mistake when replacing disposals is failure to remove dishwasher drain plug knockout.

If further assistance is needed, give us the model number of the dishwasher so I know what model I'm working with.

Dishwasher (Kenmore 665 Ultra Wash) won't drain. Suggestions?

HI.This is a drain issue. check the following areas for faults.

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

Ok, if the hoses are ok and not clogged, this will confirm a major issue that concerns the drain assembly or pump impeller.

replace the pump(drain) if found to be faulty.

Water remains in Whirpool Gold Quiet Partner dishwasher

sounds like an issue with the drain pump, disconnecting the drain hose fromm the trap and run the unit, pointing the disconnected drain hose into a bucket. You should get a fairly strong stream of water until most of the unit has drained, if not you either have a blockage or ,with the grinding sound, a bad pump.

Dischwasher will not drain

Does your dishwasher run during wash cycle? then,
Check drain hose by try this, loose the clip that hold your drain hose firmly from your dishwasher side, check carefully if no debris blocked the hose connector, water suppose to come out from that connector if it does, your drain hose was blocked with debris or mold and particles like coffee seeds etc.removed them connect the hose back run the dishwasher.

If that does not solve your problem check under your dishwasher, there's a timer activated drain solenoid that opens a drain valve to drain the wash water through a hose.
Replace it.

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
