Unfortunely there is no way of getting the data from this device, I also had the same problem with Cruzer Flash drive, According to SanDisk tech support the memory chip has failed in the unit, windows will not detect the unit if the memory chip is faulty, because it does'nt see any memory to add as a drive. This is why it is not always wise to rely on a certain device to store files, Always backup your flash drives to your Harddisk drive or CD which is better to protect you data in the future. GOOD LUCK!
Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly. Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove. To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive. If you need the data on the flash drive this program may help: - Digital Photo Recovery www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm

Have you tried opening up your files on another PC? Have you tried inserting it into a different USB drive in your PC? If so, and neither is fixing the problem, there is software you can get (I think about $20) that will help you retreive your files if they are crucial.
