The Hum is coming from a fan inside the laptop.

if sony had already changed the power supply and the problem pressist that means its not a problem with the power supply it is a problem with the prossecor fan.

Speaker humming....what is the course?

How to Eliminate the Hum and Buzz from your Sound System

Is your sound system making noises you don't want to hear? Try these tips to clear it up!

Instructions

Hum is usually the result of using electrical outlets with different grounds. To verify this, run an extension cord from the outlet that the amplifiers are plugged in, to the mixer.

Remove all the DI boxes and adapters. Connect the mixer to the amplifiers with balanced cables.

Be sure that all your cables and connectors are correctly wired:

Pin 1 shield
Pin 2 + white/red
Pin 3 - black

Note: If the system has an electronic crossover, equalizer, or limiter....you need to keep them in the signal chain to protect the system from damage. Just make sure all the cables are balanced and the pin-out on the connectors is correct.

If your gear doesn't have balanced connections use good shielded cables with the proper connectors.... NO ADAPTORS!!!

If the system still has noise, check each channel on the mixer by removing the input connections. There may be a DI box on stage that is also interacting and causing a ground loop. If that is the case try a different DI and make sure that all the instruments and amps on stage are also on the same dedicated ground as the mixer and amplifiers.

If the hum is gone using the extension cord you will need the have your electrician run a dedicated ground to the mixer and amplifier electrical plugs.

Tips & Warnings

*
Removing the DI boxes, hum eliminators and bad cables may improve the sound quality...unless the DI boxes use very expensive line level transformers (Good ones are about $75 for just the raw transformer inside the box) the signal is being squished thru a $5 instrument level DI box.
*
DO NOT lift the grounds on any of the AC inputs to the amps or the mixer as this could result in electrocution. OUCH!

Hope it helped..

I cant find my webcam programme in the system.i cant start the webca itself.

The Sony Notebook computers are shipped either with the Arcsoft WebCam Companion or the VAIO Camera Capture Utility.
1. Click on start, in the search bar type, Webcam Companion or VAIO Camera Capture Utility to find what is shipped.
2. If both are missing, then check if the drivers are installed for teh camera in device manager.
Press the Windows logo+R keys together to open Run Window.
3. In the Run Window, type "devmgmt.msc" without quotes and press the enter key.
4. In the device manager window, check if Imaging Devices is listed and has the Sony Visual Communication Camera driver installed.
5. If that is missing then, install the respictive software i.e; Webcam Comapnion or the Visual communination driver and camera capture utility.
You can install the drivers from the Sony support home page.

I could have provided the link if there would have been the exact model # of the notebook provided by you.

However, if the software is installed, then follow the steps to use the cam with VAIO Camera Capture Utility from the below link.

To use the cam with WebCam Companion Software follow the steps from the below provided link:

My laptop is feeding through my Xenyx 1622fx mixer and output to my Mackie SRM450's. Getting the 'hum' which is a fuzzy noise. Is this solved with ground loop box?

Try hooking your mixer up to your Mackies without the laptop. Does the hum go away? Try hooking your laptop output up to the Mackies without the mixer. Does the hum go away? Make sure that all your power cables run from the same outlet and have the ground or third pin intact on the plug. Also make sure that you are using shielded cables for any connection that carries an audio signal. This includes the cables going to your Mackies as they are powered amplified monitors. Make sure that the cables to your Mackies are balanced and haven't been altered to unbalanced. You will need to use unbalanced cables from your laptop unfortunately but try to find ones with a shield and three conductors ( right and left signals and a common or ground) that have a separate shield from the common. The shield should only be connected to common at the output of the device where the signal starts. A better explanation is at these links:http://www.epanorama.net/documents/groundloop/ also http://www.epanorama.net/documents/groundloop/cable_shielding.html

My fn button doesn't work

WHAT TO INSTALL?
To get the Hotkeys working your Vaio laptop requires THREE different components/sets of software installed, these are:

'Hotkey drivers'
'Sony Shared Library'
'Sony Utils'

Once you install these three components & restart your Vaio laptop your Hotkeys should be working. These are all unobtrusive files that will only enhance your Vaio machine however alternatively you can install Sony's Powerpanel or Batteryscope programs to perform the similar features.

Most these files are written for specific Vaio models however there is some overlapping and files from similar Vaio models may work with your own laptop.

WHERE TO FIND THESE FILES?
There are various online resources relating to this topic however the best place to find these files is the one below.

ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/VAIO/ORIGINAL

Using that site, find your model number & download the relevant 'Utilities' file. You might also find useful the link below, which may help with this task and/or others (including RAM upgrade advice etc)

http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk

It took many reinstalls to work out the order and what programmes needed to be installed to get the hotkeys working & I purposefully took hours doing so, noting each step I made so this guide could be written and save time for others.

Hum

first of all you must connect as follows.
1-preamp/mixer-------equalizer/reverb unit------amp-----speakers(keep all equalizer control to 0db).
2-check your cables for good connector no touching of any inner wire to chassis of any equipment.
3-go to radio shack and buy(ground-loop isolator).
parts code(270-054)-----better to buy two pieces and connect it between your equipment.

Hi, i have recently started djing and i am wondering if i have to run my speakers through an amp into my mixer or is there any kind of adapter i could get so i could just plug my speakers into my mixer....

Typically in about 95% of cases you will have to amplify your signal coming out of your mixer, befor going to your speakers. The line voltage that comes out is too weak to be heard unless amplified. When you purchase your amp, let the m know what the ohm rating is of your speakers,... this can be found on the back of the speaker, and will usually be 4 or 8 ohms(sometimes 2 or 16 but not too often).

Can I use these to Power 2 x 200 w 8Ohms

Hi,
I think you should, the power supply could cost up to that price ( for a good one 13.8v ) and you could have a ground problem for the amps, humming sound if not properly ground.
Your welcome.
