Question about HP DeskJet F4280 All In One Printer InkJet
I'm so frustrated with HP. This is the second HP all-in-one printer I have purchased and neither one feeds the paper automatically. The F4280 I just purchased for my business office I got at Circuit City so I can't return it since they are going out of business. There was no CD in the box so I had to download the drivers. They 'absolutely promised' that the USB cable they recommended would work with the printer and my desktop PC, but it's the wrong end for the printer (I was holding the sealed printer box at the time) and will have to purchase another USB cable. Now I am trying to test it by printing a copy and the paper won't feed. I have called HP support, but they are 'testing' their f4280 (I think to replicate the problem) and will call me back later. Is paper feeding problems being encountered by others? Any solutions? I have checked for packing materials and they are all gone. It won't print with the top door open so I can watch the 'pulling' process.
After waiting 4 hours for the promised return phone call from HP support I called HP tech support back and this time I connected with someone who was familiar with the problem. This is what he had me do: 1) disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer, 2) push the On/Off button 10 times, 3) wait 30 seconds, and 4) reconnect the power cable. It worked great and the paper started feeding with no problem! He said that static can build inside. I am going to try this with my HP PSC 1510 All-In-One which requires me to hand-feed the paper. My fingers are crossed.

HP emailed me to push on/off 10 times.. OR unplug the printer, then unplug the power cable behind the printer, then hold the on/off for 60 secs. they say that this will discharge all the capacitors.. and if not service the product..
