Need to fix regulator for coleman stove 5410708

The regulator on our stove leaks. Is there any way to fix this or do we need to replace the regulator? And where can we find the parts to fix it or where can we purchase a new one?

Just where the regulator attaches to the burner there is a small nut that may be loose. If you look closely at this and turn the regulator (stove off and hose detached!) you may see the nut hat turns easily. Tighten it and make sure the regulator does not rotate too freely, but still turns to adjust when attached to the hose or the smaller gas cartridge, if using that. Test carefully after this.

How do you connect the propane to the stove

Assuming you are referring to the Coleman Campers Grill Stove which is a side by side grill and stove unit than it is a pretty simple set up. All portable Coleman stoves set up basically the same. There should be a arm known as a regulator that came with the stove. The narrow end of this attaches to the right side of the stove and screws in. Then the propane bottle screws into the other larger end. make sure all connections are screwed together tightly. For more clarification check out these instructions:

When i put propane cylinder in to system propane leaks inside around ignighter what could it be

It's likley to be the rubber seal on regulator itself, the leak will be apparent as you screw the cannister into position. Coleman recommend returning the system to one of there authorised outlets for repairs. I have not seen parts for the regulator component sold seperately for DIY fitting.

Gas pressure is very low and quickly subsides then flame goes out.

Try the following:

Reinstall propane with fresh full propane canister. If problem persists then check tubing in stove for blockages. Make sure you open valve all the way for lighting.

If this doesn't work you may have a defective unit and need to replace it or send it for repair.

Can a 20lb tank be hooked up to a Coleman 2 Burner Stove 5430A

Yes. There are multiple adapters made to fit this application. Your local walmart most likely will have them. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-5-High-Pressure-Propane-Hose-and-Adapter/19897422

Why does my coleman stove regulator leak gas from the hole on the top of the regulator

Its a safety feature of the regulator. The regulator is designed with a pressure release valve. This has happened to me twice: once with a carbon dioxide tank for my kegerator and once on my propane stove. In both cases I left the regulator (designed with a max pressure rating of X psi) attached to a full bottle in the sun. The heat caused the pressure to exceed the limit of the regulator and the release valve popped. A welding supply store may be able to reset/replace the mechanism but in my case I just bought a new regulator for about $15.

I have coleman component 443 camping stove. While pumping, the input air by the pump leaks just after the pump. I guess the cap of pump should be replaced. I tried to buy the part in Vancouver,...

The only official Coleman repair facility is in Wichita, KS.

Try oiling the flexible gasket at the end of the pump. More often than not, a leaking pump is is due to the gasket drying out and not forming a proper seal.

Hope this helps.

Do I need a regulator on my bulk tank for this stove or is just an adapter hose ok

Please don't try to use this stove without a regulator. It is extremely unsafe, and not worth it. If you can't find a regulator cheap online (I couldnt find one for less than $30) - just buy a new one. You can find a whole new cookstove on sale for $20-30 at most outdoor stores like Big 5, Dicks, Walmart...good luck!

Flames shooting up from back of Coleman stove.

Buy a new one. do not attempt to use this one again. There could be a pin hole in the propane lines or just a small crack. If you can hear it then there's a problem.

However if you really want to fix this one try putting water on the propane lines and then putting on a new tank and opening the valve. DO NOT LIGHT THE STOVE. where there are bubbles there is your leak. When you find it seal it with a Flame retardent sealent or clamp the line. Also I believe Lowe's sells parts that may work. just find out which line is leaking and replace the whole line.

I highly recommend just buying a new one and destroying the old one. DO NOT just throw it away please. Some one out there will grab it and try and use it. They will find out the hard way and maybe get hurt badly themselves or hurt someone else. Just imagine the guy who grabs it and goes camping with his family. Him and his son start it up. the son is right next to the unit. The guy fires it up and boom the son gets burned. Is it just me or would you feel bad if you knew this guy. I have seen it first hand. trust me it sucks. A buddy of mine did this and his son was in hospital for 3 days. he said he will never do that again.

So for safety sake please just buy the new one. don't take unnessecary risks if you don't have too.
