This is a flaw with TomTom. The way I do it is this, after you input the address, touch, details, then, browse as text, scroll down to the very last instuction and touch that. This will open a window showing an arrow pointing which side of the road the final destination is on. Good luck.
If this helps you plz rate it fixya. Thank you kindly.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Whenever i put in the address from which i am leaving to go to a destination it wont do anything and also in the car it wont show me the road that i am on

When the GPS device starts up ( when you power it on ), it will take several seconds, up to a couple of minutes to locate the satellites, before it will show where you are (on the road / map). So, you simply have to enter the destination address, to get directions from where you are, to the destination.
It is easier for the GPS device to locate the satellites if the GPS / you are not under (some) cover, e.g. indoor garage, under ground parking, under trees, etc. Some times you'll just have to wait a little longer. [But you can enter the destination addresses even before it locates your position ]

First GPS Can't understand how to get started using it.

Real easy to use
1- Read the manual
2 Turn it on and let it setup, once its ready to use
3- Hit menu then destination
4- put in destination and tell it to route
5- follow the gps unit, using some common sense, since it can and might tell you to do things that there is no road for or you might not be able to go that way.
6- Read the manual again this will show you some of the other features you may not be using.
7- If there is no manual check the cd that came with the unit since it will be on there and if by some strange chance it's not you can usually get the manual online at the manufactures website.

Is there a way to tell the gps to guide even if you have not put in adestination

What do you want the unit to do? If you press "View Map" without entering a destination, it will show you where you currently are as you drive and the roads ahead of you. Is this what you were asking?

Takes us on backroads instead of highways.

I don't have the same model gps as you, but I can tell you that there probably is a setting in the preferences somewhere, that you can set to what preferred roads you would take. Just look around in all the menus and sub menus, it has to be there.

Simulation is where it simulates where your trip will take you. Enter a new destination and don't select simulate trip.

Why does my garmin c340 tell the wrong side of road a house is on?

This is common with most GPS receivers not just yours. It has to do with your position relative to the Sat. and the amount of processor utilization looking for triangulation readings. Basically its a brief signal deterioration on one or more signals so your device is lagging a bit.

please rate. thanks.

Fatal Error Message

I have an older one of these with the AV connections. once in a while it does not see GPS signals. If I exit navigation and from the main menu select setup, I can reset the GPS and then go back into navigation, this seems to cure the issue but it may return. I think the root cause is a low memory battery in the unit.
