If you can get it out of the plate, you will still have to remove the crater it made to eliminate snags. If you have the tools to do that, go for it, otherwise I'd take it to a shop.

I have a singer 247 I broke the needle and have replaced it . Now the bobbin will not turn I have taken it apart and still doesn't work if you could help me fix it I would appreciate it

Most likely the needle was broken when a piece of cloth was under the machine right , this means that the needle was slightly bent while it went down to pick up the lower thread , in most of these cases it damaged something fornm the bottom spool.....better check carefullyfor marks and VERY genrly with a new needle in place utrn by hand and see feel where it gets stuck...then replace part or bring to shop to fix ...

Frequently, while I am sewing, the needle hits something below the guide plate and gets stuck. I have to remove the guide plate and then the needle will release. What is the problem with my machine?

If the needle gets stuck with no thread, The needle is hitting something. Could be needle not up all the way or something needs adjusting. If it gets stuck with thread. It is probably an upper thread tension or threading issue.

Make sure both needles are new and THE SAME SIZE. Look if there are any needle punctures onthe needle plate and stich fingers.

Line needle plate

try a new needle first, then if the needle doesn't line up with the needle plate, then the machine needs a ajustment or has a timing problem and needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop

Singer Athena 2009 needle hitting plastic in bobbin case

here's something to check
is the needle inserted all the way in to the needle holder?
needle--flat side goes to the back of the machine
is the needle clamp screw tight or loose?
if the needle is correctly in the needle holder & the needle clamp screw is tight --then the needle bar is out of time & need to be serviced
IF YOU DO HAVE TO TAKE IT TO BE SERVICED AFTER YOU GET IT HOME STOP RIGHT THEN & SEW ON THE MACHINE TO MAKE SURE THEY FIXED THE MACHINE & IT SEWS LIKE IT SUPPOSE TO, I HAD ONE CUSTOMER THAT TOOK THEIR MACHINE TO A SHOP & THEY CLEANED IT AGAIN & DIDN'T FIX IT BUT CHARGED THEM FOR IT & THEY BROUGHT IT TO ME TO FIX & IT HAD TO BE RETIME
did you get a instruction manual for the machine if not check at singer
Go to the singer website
Click on customer support--there will be a drop down menu
Choose instruction manual
In the box type the model number---2009
Click search--if you don't see a manual--contact singer customer service

Have PE150 and all of a sudden the needle broke.. so I changed it and now it will not stitch top or bottom. It is like the top and bottom threads are not connecting. a embroidery novice so i'm pretty...

It could be one of two things. Either part of the needle broke off and is jammed under the throat plate or now the timing is off. If you have gotten both pieces of the needle out and know it's not the needle that's causing a problem, then it's the timing. When the needle is about 2mm up from the bottom dead center, the point of the hook on the bobbin case should be center to the needle and just above the eye. You will need to have an authorized repairman fix this since you need a metric tool to fix it. Sorry it's not good news...unless that needle is just stuck in there. thanks for contacting me here on FixYa.
