This is joyce
I would suggest to stop doing full loads or to keep top closed on washer while doing clothes. you have a very strong agitator.

thanks

Water collecting under the machine during a wash which is not due to a leak

I had one that would spin water over the top of the drum during the wash cycle once, even with low water level. There are actually brake shoes/pads that add resistance, so the agitate won't over spin before it changes direction. I don't remember them being too difficult to install.

Replace splash guard FAV6800AWW

Disconnect power supply to the washer then insert a plastic putty knife or similar tool in line with the lid seam, as shown, and push in to release the catches on the left and right side.

Once the catches are released, lift the front of the top cover and tilt toward the rear of the washer. Unsnap the splash guard starting in the lower right corner, as shown, then work around the perimeter until the guard is totally free.

Follow the removal steps in reverse order when installing the new splash guard.

I have a Kenmore heavy duty washing machine model C110. When the machine has a full load and a high water level, it leaks, but when the level is lower ( small load ) it is ok. Also under the machine on the...

The water leak is from the white tub cover on top of the tub. The seal needs replaced.

The oil is from the transmission.

I honestly would replace the washer.

Moldy smell

Jeffrey is right - washing water temperature is very important. Just as important is the amount of detergent used and whether or not softener is used. The self-cleaning mode does not address the problem because it does not clean the "splash area" just above the normal waterline. Suds and soiled waters splash up and don't get rinsed out. This is invariably the area of worst buildup. To clean the splash area add 1 cap of smelly washer cleaner to a full load of laundry. The added bulk of the laundry will raise the water level to include the splash area. For more extreme problems intermittently pause to soak.

At start of spin cycle water splashes over top and runs down.

Hi, just fixed the daughters speed queen, same problem. The three brake shoes were worn allowing the tub to spin with the agitator.
replaced the shoes, washer fine. At first I thought it was the top ring. spent 30 dollars for nothing.
good luck

Splashing

Most top loaders are not water tight. They are splash resistant. I'm guessing that your water level is too high or you are loading your clothing into a machine that is already full of water raising the water level excessively.

If you allow your machine to fill with no clothes for test purposes, you should see a level about 3 inches below the top of the agitator. If it is higher than that, I suggest that you investigate why or use a lower water setting.

Water splash sheild ineffective

My machine may be a different model, but seems to have similar problems. I resolved this by: a) making sure the splash shield is fastened correctly at all points round the tub (it worked loose) b) as a temporary fix reversed the foam gasket inside the splashshield until I get a new one
