I cleaned the lines and filters...but the water keeps running into the machine even when the power is off...I think the problem is the water control valve....how do I pop the hood?

it is your water valve its stuck, you have trash stuck in valve causing it to stay open, remove the hose on back of washer and check filter that is in line see if it has trash in it, if you are on well system you will get trash unless you install filter inline. see a techn. if I can help you find someone in your area please let me know and I will assist, thanks,

Go to Maytag.com put your model # in and then download your manuel to your machine this is the easiest way to show you. it will give you the way to your valve and how to replace it. it is not that expensive if you order from local dealer. they usually have them in stock you have a fairley new unit is it still under warranty? if its the pump you have more than 1 year and the motor, all other only 1 year parts and labor. hope I helped. the manual does help download the entire thing and read it you will find it very interesting. then pop the hood on that puppy.....

    thanks,

First of all take the door off hinges included also remove screws from the opposite side of hinge. Take off the front panel by twisting at the top. Then remove 4 screws from the detergent disp. There are 2 screws that hold the top in place near each top corner, Now you can get to the mix valve assembly.

On Spin cycle it continues filling up with water and when it starts spinning the water pours out of the top of machine. Also with Power failure or overload it continues to fill up with water and never...

We are talking about a FAV6800A or FAV9800A machine correct?

You will need the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

If so it sounds like you have a stuck Water Valve or a Pressure Switch malfunction that never signals the Control Board of wash tub water level. And or a possible drain pump/drain line clog. I don't think you have a Drain Line issue because you don't report an ND error code for no drain.

Are you up for troubleshooting to DIY the repair?

If you unplug the washer does water continue to flow which requires you to shut the water valve to the washer? If water doesn’t flow I would next step you through how to check that the Pressure Switch is signaling the Control Board to turn off the 120VAC to the water inlet solenoids on proper water level fill.

Before we go any further let’s hear back from you.

I own a FAV6800A and I'm very familiar with troubleshooting and resolving issues with both it and the LCD version the FAV9800A.........Rich

MAYTAG NEPTUNE MAH9700AWW continues to fill on rinse, code ''oe'',

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean (ref manual, it may not be there, they want a tech to come by to make more $). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it (4 to 6 inches maximum) Of course some direct the hose into sink, fine. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me nice or not at all. Happy spinning! Nice to watch the machine spin, not your head!

if the water continues to fill even with power off, and you have to manually shut in off at the wall valve, the 3-way inlet valve is stuck open. you have to replace it. $90

Maytag Neptune MAH-1 won't stop filling with water

A couple things may be going on here... you may not want to hear, but the Neptune has a had many "consumer related problems".

If your complaint is "will not stop filling with water" I would access your inlet water-valve (typically blue with 2 black battery looking solenoids; where your water-lines connect directly), test for continuity and replace as necessary. Sometimes inlet-water valves also go bad where the complaint is: "no water comes in at all".

Pressure Switch or Air dome?

Does it stop filling when you hit Start/pause or do you have to shut off water supply? The air dome is the black rubber piece that is clamped to the pump housing. Usually i find that clogged not letting the pressure sw operate proper. I belive the switch has 4 wires. It has 2 contacts, one closes with a small amount of water visible in tub, hi contacts close with water much higher - even filling bottom of boot.

Washer fills with water , then shuts off , doesn't move to another cycle

Since you know about the lid and check switches, they are located under the splash (control)panel. unplug the machine and remove the screws holding the panel on. Using a meter check the switches for continuity and replace if they've gone bad.

Maytag Neptune Stackable washer continues to fill with water when unit is off

If the machine continues to fill even after the power has been switched off, this sounds like a stuck inlet valve. To identify the valve, look at your model in the "parts store" section of Maytag's website. The valve is item 21 on the "Control Panel, Top & Lid" drawing. From the drawing, the valve looks like a fairly standard item; I suspect you might get something suitable a bit cheaper elsewhere. A

Water fill

Try unplugging the unit. If it stops filling you have a control board problem. If it continues to fill, you have a bad fill valve that is not closing properly, usually because of dirt or scale buildup thats gotten past the inlet screen on the valve. Good Luck!
