Why won't my dyson d28 vacuum? I step on the foot and it won't tilt?

The manual is here, amongst other places:
Dyson DC28 Animal User Guide Around Page 4, as labeled in the manual, it shows the operator stepping a foot onto the lower unit and pulling the handle back. It's a common instruction for every Dyson upright I've looked at a manual for. Pull a little harder and it should tilt. Try moving it through the full range of motion a few times, and also make sure the lower click connector for the accessory hose if firmly seated at the bottom rear of the unit.

Good Luck!

My vacuum is stuck in upright position

It's frustrating, but it's a common mix of vague documentation and un-obvious operation for a lot of Dyson uprights. Per the manual (
https://www.dyson.co.uk/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/dc27_uk_manual_alf_120710%20pdf.pdf ), look at page 4, you put your foot on the base of the unit and pull back with conviction on the handle. It should move. If it's feeling really iffy, make sure that the hose assembly is fully clicked into the base.

Be aware that the brush bar won't spin until the unit is reclined. This is a common feature in Dysons, since this is the position where it re-routes the suction into the handle for use of accessory heads.

Good Luck!

Motor won't engage when release handle to vacuum.

Please look at this URL for operating instructions, floor adjustment, etc.
http://www.dyson.com/customercare/manuals/us/dc07_opmanual_usa.pdf
If you feel you are following the directions and still not getting the motor drive, check for broken belts and/or frozen beater brush. Will be happy to go further if this solution does not solve your problem. Paul

Why is my dyson turning off after 8 minutes using it?

It's overheating, almost certainly because there's a blockage somewhere. Dysons run quite hot anyway, so it doesn't take much of an obstruction to cause this problem. It may simply be that the filters need cleaning or changing. Follow instructions in your operator's manual for checking for blockages (can download from Dyson website if you've lost the original).

Where is the hose located on dyson animal? Is it in the vacuum itself? Can you print a copy of the booklet showing how to operate the vacuum?

The hose is located in the tube that runs down the back of the machine below the handle. Just pull the handle upwards and the hose will come out with it. You can find owners manuals on the Dyson website, also phone numbers for help lines (may or may not be useful, depending on where you live).
I hope this is helpful.

No suction in upright position

Check the adapters at the bottom. They're supposed to move cleanly when you lower the handle. It's pretty obvious if there's an air gap when you lower the handle, and you should hear the suction in the air gap.

And...call Dyson...their support is great!
