Don't know how to use MWR10D6

Magnavox.

Are there simple 'even a dummy could do it' instructions for low-tech person to get this to record?

Thanks!

I have a satelite receiver running on video 4 on a Sony kdf 60 wf 655. I ran the red, white, yellow cables via a "Y" connector from the receiver to both the tv & the recorder. I ran a red, white & yellow from the recorder to the tv on video 3. I can play a purchased movie, but when I try to record something it is a blank screen. No pictue or sound. I just can't record anything.

I'm afraid that the manual for this unit is a little dense.
Now that the digital conversion is imminent, nothing will ever be simple again.
This is not the ONLY way to record with this machine, but here is one way: (I'm also assuming that you have a cable or satellite BOX - if you don't, let me know):
1. Connect a red, white, and yellow cable from a red/white/yellow OUT of your cable or satellite box to the Video IN and Audio IN of the Magnavox.
2. Connect a second red, white, and yellow cable from the Video and Audio OUT of the Magnavox to a red/white/yellow IN of your TV (most TV's only have INs and not OUTs, hence they may be unmarked either way - but this situation is rapidly changing).
3. Change your TV to the channel that corresponds to the red/white/yellow port - some TV's label it "AV1," "AV2" etc. - others label it "Video1", "Aux 1" etc. - I would have to know the exact model # of your TV to be sure.
4. As long as you can see the channel that you are trying to record on the TV screen, you can just press REC on the Magnavox with a blank DVD inserted.

Like I said, this is not the ONLY way, but it is probably the simplest.

BTW, we're not Magnavox - Fixya.com is an independent , 3rd party tech support site.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Philips Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD

MAGNAVOX DVD RECORDER MODEL # MWR10D6: Is a piece of junk. Yet another worthless waste material and rescources. In other words they or someone else could have taken the materials and energy used to assymble this thing and used it for some other appliance or device that would actually work. This thing is so worthless that it was environmentally irresponsible for the manufactures to even make it. Now all it's good for is filling landfills.

My suggestion is to do as I am right now and go onto any and every forum, or message board you know about and warn as many people as you can away from this piece of junk and the SCAM that is being perpatrated by Magnavox and whoever else helped them cook up this scam.

I've even made space for a photo of it and description of how sorry it works on both my myspace.com and facebook.com pages.

Recording t.v.

It is probably an error message that says, "This program is not allowed to be recorded." This is a common problem with this model and I am still searching for a way to fix it. Mine does the same thing.
