The updated drivers should be on the pc manufacturers website under support if you haven't added anything other than software since purchase. If you have upgraded hardware then the updated drivers would be on the hardware manufacturers website. I can't give you a direct link becuase you didn't list make model of pc. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Cant install realtek hd audio player error 401

Hello,

From your question, I deduce that:

1. You are installing a Sound Crad Driver from an OEM Vendor (Toshiba support site).
2. You are runnimg Windows XP. in the case of Windows Seven/Vista, these two platforms support a generic HD Audio Driver (hdaudio.sys as verified from the DirectX Diagnostic Tool)
3.In that case, you need to download and install:
(a). The Intel Chipset Drivers for your device.
(b). The Microsoft Unified Audio Architecture HD Audio Driver , which you can download here as a HotFix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111). Click here to go to the link.
4. Once you have downloaded all these components and installed them, go on and install the Realttek HD Audio Driver from your OEM Vendor.

Good luck.

I installed windows xp 7. i lost sound in my hp compaq 6820s pc. What do i do?

Your notebook model does not have windows 7 compatible drivers from HP. Hence,
I recommend you to run windows updates in the notebook which will download the generic drivers. To perform Windows update in your notebook, please follow the web link provided below:

Hp pavilion loads to windows users then once the user is selected it acts as if it wants to load then everything goes solid pink. tried many different monitors

Sounds like you have a driver problem.
If you are running vista, go to your recovery manager and reload your hardware drivers.
If you are running xp, remove your video drivers and reload them from HP's website.

Problem with my sound

That is normal, you need to reinstall drivers after installing the system from a generic Windows CD.
Here is toshiba download page
Click and follow instructions to download drivers.
You may need also to reinstall network, video, modem, and pad drivers if you want to achieve full functionality.
