Question about Dualit 20247 2-Slice Toaster

1 Answer

Dualit Toaster won't heat on either side.

Dualit 20293/87 2 Slice won't heat on either side when you start the timer.  How do I know whether it's the timer or the heating cards? Can anyone also direct me to a site for Dualit parts?  Thanks! Jadeneye

Dualit 4-slice toaster stopped toasting, never heats up

We had the same problem. I took off the bottom plate, cleaned the toaster, reseated all of the connectors on the heating plates, timer, and switch, and the toaster started working again. Only one connector was slightly loose (but it was still connected with decent contact). I am not sure what fixed it. If that did not work, my next step was to purchase replacement parts online and swap out the switch, timer, and heating plates (in that order). We have an older model than yours, but I suspect that the parts are similar. The parts all look very easy to replace. These units are intended to be repaired and not replaced.

Arms won't depress and toaster (4 slots) won't turn on

It may need a new timer. Prices vary from $58 - $159 for this part in the US £25 in Britain, where these are made.

please check and make sure the red button in front is pressed to the right so that all 4 slots will heat up.

    Dualit 2 slice toaster

The top red button is the heating element selector.
If you push it to the left, only the left side is going to turn on.
Push it to the right and both of the heating elements will turn on.
Idea behind this comes from the commercial background where you save electricity on using only the elements that you need.
the bottom is simply a timer.

Buy and fit a new timer switch.6 screws to remove bottom cover, pull the knob off and 2 screws hidden by the knob will be revealed, these hold the timer in. Make sure you put the wires onto the new switch in the same place you took them from.
