Question about Frigidaire FRS23R4A Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Water filter housing keeps breaking

We have replaced the water filter housing 3 times now. It keeps cracking and we don't know why. The last time, we made sure nothing was touching the housing because we feared the kids were cramming junk in the fridge and breaking it. It still cracked. I have decreased the water pressure to it in hopes that might solve the problem - it didn't either. Is the part just made that cheap. I also made sure to not over tighten the screws when installing. Please comment on any help.

Perhaps your refrigerator is too cold. Place a thermometer inside the fridge near the filter housing and leave it overnight. It should read more than 34°F the next morning. Any lower and the water inside the filter will start to freeze, breaking the housing.

If it's too cold, try raising the temp a couple of degrees. Otherwise, move items away from the vents in back to prevent cold spots.

Good luck !

I have a 90 yamaha square nose superjet . It starts up fine outta water but once I put it in water it's kinda hard to start and when It does start if I put any weight in the tray it blog / stalls out...

I take that the vehicle is a jet ski. They work by the engine driving a centrifical pump to expel water at pressure at the out let. If it runs well out of water there is no load on the engine I would be checking things like spark plugs, timing exhaust blockages Corrosion in water jackets in exhaust as when it is water there would be water cooled exhaust.

How do i change a waterpump on a 2001Volkswagen cabrio?

Your Cabrio has one of several 2.0L Volkswagen engines - determine your engine type from the
8th digit of your VIN, which will be either an "A", or "C",both are 2.0L engines.

Volkswagen 2.0L engines offered in 2001:
(a) 2.0L (Aba) Engine
(b) 2.0L (Aeg/Avh/Azg/Bdc/Bev/Bgd) Engine
(c) 2.0L (Aeg/Avh/Azg/Bdf) Engine

For completeness, I've included the water pump maintenance manual entries for all (3) 2.0L VW
engines offered in 2001. Note that the instructions below include (3) illustrations, which are
reproduced faithfully from the manual, but the last (2) illustrations are identical, since the last two
engines in the list above are virtually identical.

I have no clue on how to replace water pump on a 1995 chrysler cirrus 2.5L. I have to do this myself I dont have the money for a garage.

This is found on the autozone.com website.

2.5L Engine
See Figures 3 through 7
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Place a large drain pan under the radiator drain plug. Drain and properly contain the engine coolant.

This procedure requires removing the engine timing belt and the auto tensioner. To help assure proper alignment at assembly, it may be helpful to set the engine at TDC on No. 1 compression stroke. This should align all timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket and both camshaft sprockets.
  1. Remove the accessory drive belts and crankshaft damper.
  2. Remove the right engine mount. This requires safely supporting the engine with a floor jack and wood block so the mount can be removed.
  3. Remove the timing belt covers.
  4. Remove the timing belt and tensioner.

Fig. Fig. 7: Always keep the water pump's mounting bolts lined up with their correct mounting holes

  1. Remove the water pump mounting bolts.
  2. Separate the water pump from the water inlet pipe and remove the pump.

To install:
  1. Thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces. Inspect the pump for damage or cracks, signs of coolant leakage at the vent, and excessive looseness or rough turning bearings. Any problems require a new pump.
  2. Install a new O-ring on the water inlet pipe. Wet the O-ring with water to make installation easier. DO NOT use oil or grease on the O-ring.
  3. Install a new gasket on the water pump and fit the pump inlet opening over the water pipe. Press the assembly together to force the pipe into the water pump.
  4. Install the water pump-to-engine bolts and tighten to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).
  5. Install the timing belt and timing belt tensioner. Set the timing belt tension.
  6. Install the timing belt covers. Install the right engine mount. Remove the floor jack and engine block from underneath the engine.
  7. Install the crankshaft damper.
  8. Install the accessory drive belts and set to the proper tension.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
  11. Start the engine and verify proper operation, with no leaks

Leaks at the filter of a frigidare side by side SXS FEFRIGERATO

Assuming this is a side by side, with the water filter located at the top back of fresh food side, assuming filter is unclogged, i.e., new, check the housing that the filter slips into, that which you actually grasp and turn to remove the filter. If there are any cracks in this filter housing, you will need to replace it. If the cover is sound, the problem will lie within the housing assembly, that which you screw the filter cover into. This housing is held on with 2 or 3 screws. IN order to remove the water lines, you must squeeze the white collar towards the housing, away from the water line, while at the same time gently tugging the water line. If you squeeze the collar correctly, the line should come right out. Make sure to connect ONE line at a time. Do not disconnect both and reattach at the same time. If the lines are reversed, you will damage the filter and possibly water system itself. attach water filter and check again. if filter cover is ok, and this does not fix your problem, without personal inspection, i cant help you further. Keeps blowing thermal cutt-off fuse

You need to remove the front dryer panel clean dryer completely of lint . Even where the lint filter is . Also make sure the vent hose is not kinked or filled with water and lint . I changed a thermal cutt-off 3 times in a dryer within about 2 weeks time . On the last time , removed the front panel and filter housing , and a big ball of lint fell out . Cleaned vent housing and inside of dryer and no more problems since .
