SRCTE,  Are you certain that you installed a NEW water valve?  To isolate the problem between the ice maker and the water valve.  Remove the ice maker from the refrigerator.  Inspect the water fill tube for being stopped up with solid ice.  If so, clear the solid ice with a hair dryer blowing hot air into the end of the water fill tube.  Insert a long screw driver into the end of the water fill tube to break loose any remaining solid ice up in the tube.  Inspect with a flash lite to verify the water fill tube is clear and open.  Leave the ice maker out of the refrigerator overnite and operate the refrigerator as normally used.  After 6-8 hours, open the freezer door and inspect the end of the water fill tube; if the water fill tube is clear of solid ice then you have a bad ice maker which must be replaced.  If on the other hand the water fill tube has ice protruding from the water fill tube then the water valve is defected and must be replaced again.  If the water valve is replaced you may desire to install an external in line water filter. Hope this helps you.  Henry

GE Profile Icemaker freezing up; water freezes down inside wall of freezer; icemaker making ice, very slowly, but will not dispense. Water is still dispensing

This sounds like your water valve is not completely closing allowing water to drip and freeze. First check to make sure that the water tube going into the cup of the ice maker is lined up correctly and not causing this problem - if it is lined up correctly then replace the water valve on the back of the refrigerator that your main line is connected to.

Not making ice . LED is flashing properly and put power to the valve in the back of the unit and it pushed water so appearantly something is not tellng the valve to open

Check the short black tube that is above the icemaker fill cup , to see if it is frozen . If so , then the water valve is " seeping " . Not closing completely and letting drops go thru which freezes in the tube . After a while , even if the ice maker calls for water , and the valve opens , it cannot fill the ice maker due to the frozen tube . Turn your freezer temp down , after removing as much ice from the tube as you can ( hair dryer may help ) . May take several days to thaw , since the tube runs between the top freezer liner and the outer cabinet . If not frozen , then the icemaker is bad .

Leaking water in icemaker. water from icemaker leaks into freezer and freezes on freezer wall

If you are sure that it's coming from the ice maker I believe that you possibly have a leaking water control valve on the side for the ice maker on the rear of refrigerator near floor there is a dual water valve control. Many times when this happens the water will freeze in the fill tube that fills the ice maker in the rear of freezer. You can defrost the frozen water in the fill tube with a hair dryer but that will not stop the problem from coming back. When that happens water tends to at times go everywhere but the ice maker. You can test the water control valve several ways. By unplugging the side to the ice maker and if water continues to flow slowly to the ice maker then the dual water control valve will need replaced, Sea Breeze

Ice maker stopped working

The laser , is supposed to blink . This laser , tells the icemaker to stop making ice , when the bin is full . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker . If it doesn't dump the cubes into the bin , the icemaker is bad . Or , if there is ice in the bin , which hasn't dumped , the icemaker is bad . If the icemaker dumps the ice ( from water pour ) , then look above the fill cup , and see if the black fill tube is frozen . If so , then replace the water valve and turn the freezer temp down slightly . It will take several days for this fill line inside freezer to thaw . If icemaker dumps , and black tube NOT frozen , replace the water valve . The valve , is where the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Refrigigerator ice maker is not working.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , replace the water valve ( the piece the wall waterline connects to on the fridge .). Also check the fill tube inside that fills the icemaker , to see if it is frozen solid . If so , then the water valve seeps and needs replaced . If the water freezes and does not dump , replace the icemaker . Check the coils below refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . An icemaker has to be 5 degrees to operate , and if the coils are not clean , that could bring the temp up to 6 or even higher .

No ice

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , the water valve is bad ( where the wall water line connects to the fridge ) . If it freezes and does not dump and the ice stays in the icemaker , replace the icemaker . Also check the fill tube ( the tube going from the freezer wall to the icemaker itself ) to see if it has frozen closed . If it has , the water valve is not closing completely , and letting a drop thru and freezing in the tube . Also an indication of a bad water valve .

All water underneath.ice in the bottom.freezer working.not making

If I understand you correctly your water line that comes through the back wall of the freezer and into the icemaker is frozen. If so you have a bad water valve. When the valve goes bad it will not seal off the water. It will seep causing a slow drip where the water comes out at you icemaker. It'd slow enough to freez causing a ice blockage. This will not allow water to come through and fill your icemaker when it calls for water.

Water is freezing in the supply line for the ice maker

This usually means you have a weeping water valve. The water valve doesn't completely shut down after filling the icemaker. This deposits a staedy flow of water which freezes and accumulates in the tube, eventually blocking it off. You would need to replace the water valve which is located at the rear of the refrigerstor. One othe thing to check would be the water supply to the refrig. If the water dispenser is working fine then that isn't an issue. However, if that is flowing slowly you would need to replace the saddle valve which is tapping into your house water supply.

Ice Maker Water Supply Hose Freezes

Justin, the cause is a failed water inlet valve (behind the fridge, near the floor). The solution is to replace the valve.

The part number of your valve is 4389177 and it lists for ~$65.00. You can find one at a local appliance parts outlet or order it online. (actually, the valve kit comes with instructions =) )

Easy to replace. Pull out the fridge, unplug it and turn the water off at the wall. Now use a 1/4" socket or nut driver and remove all the screws holding that cardboard cover in place. Now remove the water hose from the valve and remove the 2 screws that mount the valve to the fridge. Pull the valve out and notice how it's wired and how the plumbing is done. Then simply wire in and put the tubing on the new valve and rebuild everything.

Job time? About half an hour. Good luck and don't sweat it, this repair is a snap.

Our ge profile is leaking water above the icemaker, help

Sounds like the inlet water valve for the icemaker is not shutting off 100%. That would result in either A.) a block of ice plugging the tube where the water passes through from the outside of the freezer into the freezer compartment, or B.) an ice waterfall in the freezer into the ice bin and/or down the back wall of the freezer compartment.
Solution to either: replace water valve and remove ice with the aid of a hair blower.
