Question about Viper 5701 VIPER 5701 2-WAY ALARM w/REMOTE START

2 Answers

Remote keypad I've had my remote start for about 2 mo. now. My remote won't respond to any of the functions when I press a button. I get a warning on my keypad that something is wrong. None of the functions work. I've looked in my owner?s manual for troubleshooting and didn't find anything. Can anyone help?

Like I posted for another question.....
Try removing the 15 amp fuse on the red wire to the brain of the alarm.  Wait a few minutes and reinstall.  I have the Clifford version of this alarm and have had to do it a couple times.  Also try the one way remote and see if it works.  If the one way works and the two way works but gives an error this show fix it (for awhile).  I think DEI is having a problem and don't want to do anything about it.

You probably need to change the battery in the remote. AutoZone has a thing on the counter that will check the battery for you.

The waves mean that the remote is vibrate mode. Try reprogramming the remote. Open the door, turn ignition on, press and release the valet button once then, press and hold the valet button. press the lock button on the remote. Vehicle should respond with a chirp from the siren. Release valet button, turn off ignition, test system.

I have 2004 chev tahoe w/ a viper remote starter system, but no key fob. I replaced the car battery & now the cars computer won't let it start. How do I reset the computer?

The car's computer wont let it start?
Well, if you changed the battery and the viper alarm is the issue; locate the push button valet/programming switch. Turn the ignition on, press and release the switch. The alarm will disarm and you can start the vehicle.
To put the alarm in valet, turn the ignition on then off, within 10 seconds press and release the valet switch. The LED will illuminate solid to show that the system is in valet.

I got the Problem that my pager-function doen't work. I try it like the Manual saying (*-Button) but the two ways that gives doesn't work.

- Start the Programmmode while Pressing "P" on the Backside.
- Press the "STAR-Button or Panic-Button (Orange Key) on the Sender"
it Beeps 2 Times. (i try it again with 1 beep as reponse again)
i Wait 5 Seconds
it beeps 2 long times

i try the Responder, Activate the System, disarm the System. But the Pager don't change the state or receive any Signal.
The Transmitter is working perfect! No Problems to control the Viper 690XV.

What i do wrong?

Is there any hidden Feature or needable Programming in the Viper 690XV-Brain?

Thanks alot for any helpful Answer :)

AUDIOVOX CAR APS787N ADVANCED REMOTE START DOES NOT FUNCTION EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED PROPERLY.

If everthing is properly connected and the system does function, you may need to program the remotes. But first, let's check a couple of things. Turn the ignition on and press and release the push button LED three times and check for a response. The alarm should chirp one time. If the alarm chirps one time, press and release the lock button on the remote. If the alarm responds with a long chirp, press and release the push button LED one time, should hear two chirps; press and release the unlock button on the remote. The alarm should respond with a long chirp. Press and release the push button LED one time, you should hear three chirps, press and release the green button. You should hear a long chirp from the alarm. Press and release the push button LED one time, you should hear four chirps from the alarm; press and release the (1)button on the remote. continue the process for button(2).Now, if you do not hear the one chirp in the beginning, the system is not responding. Check your power and ground connections. If the system does chirp but, no response from the remote, check your antenna cable for proper connection at the module and the antenna. If the connections are fine, check the remote. Also,it is possible that there is major RF interference where you are located. If all of the above check out, try moving the vehicle to a different location and test.

Is the red or blue light (LED)on the dash lit up solid? If it is then the alarm is in valet mode. 2 ways to take it out of valet. 1) open a door and press lock, unlock then lock again on your Viper remote. 2) turn the ignition on then off and press your valet/override button. The LED should go out and the beeps and status should come back. BTW you can also put the Viper into valet mode using the 2 methods above.

Back lighting for my viper 479v remote

you have to go in to the proramming mode of the remote to change this feature. you can access this by holding all 4 buttons on the remote at the same time. (or if you have the P button on the back you can hold it down by itself) you will hear 2 long beeps confirming the programming mode. at this time, you can change the settings by pressing 1 of the 4 buttons., each button will change a different function.

in no order------
1. Beep/vibrate or both
2. page or not to page
3.back light
4. hood, truck, or both

the remote will give 2 long beeps when it exits the programming
