I need software for my 2 gig philips gogear

Your device can play video file if its format is suitable. If you install the Philips songbird software you can convert your files with it and the player will play them after files transferred.

This solution can be usable if your player's type is SA2VBE.... If you have SA1... type you should use Philips Device Manager you can download too from this website.
Windows Media Player 11 and Quick Time software should be installed on your PC.

Make sure you have used the gogear media convertor that is required to convert the video files to the format required for the gogear.
Please log on tothe philip gogoear site to download the media software to be installed to your PC to tbe converted and loaded to your gogear.

Media players need the matching video format: for GoGear Vibe it is SMV.
To convert video from AVI to SigmaTel Motion Video, use the Media Converter Software from the manufacturer. For the videos you'd like to convert, be sure to update video codecs in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.

Vibe players have different display sizes, so you'll need the matching Converter for your player.

That player cannot recognize iTunes files or most DRM-protected WMA's. Downlaod files that are in Mp3 format, and you will not get this message.

It plays video in smv format. I was just able to figure out how to do it and now it works great. The main thing to remember is to use the converter that came on the software (came with the philips mp3 player) and it will work.

I tried to use a 3rd party application to convert to smv format and when I loaded it onto the philips 3020 it wouldn't play. I used the the software it came with and it worked.

The tricky thing about this software is that it will only work with files in wmv format and then it will convert it to smv format which will play perfectly on the philips 3020. I

n my case I had to convert from my avi format to wmv and then convert to smv just to get it to play but it was worth it.

just download youtube converter it is freeware.add the file ,choose the format i.e avi ,get the output file .now load it on philips media converter it will read and work.

I just figured it out....it was the vista codec package that was sitting on my laptop that I had downloaded free which was causing the problem and for a minute I doubted the Philips company guys....After removing that package the files got converted perfectly and I can see the videos on my player...Ciao and thx if anyone was trying to figure this out"
