Problem for LG RC199H DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

After loading a dvd disc in the dvr/vcr combo LG, the machine takes forever to read and then a message appears disc playback error, when the same disc plays fine in another dvd player.
How could I solve this problem. Thank u.

- dvr is an LG product, I will try cleaning the lens an dreport back. thx

- the lens is not visible, tried with a qtip whatever i could see anyother suggestions

Is the dvr a comcast product
if it is call comcast

Clean the DVD lens with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and a Qtip. Be careful not to press down too hard. Gently clean the lens all around. Changing Qtips if you see anty signs of debris or dirt on the tip.

- many times you have to replace the DVD player. Did you remove the cover ?
