Switching to one program to another while on lcd projector

I am going to be doing a slideshow for my wedding using both powerpoint and moviemaker. I need to know how to switch back and forth from one program to another with the switches being seen only on the laptop and not on the screen for the guests to see. I have heard that there is a way to do this using powerpoint, but need to know how to switch from one program to another. Are there certain keys I use, or will this not work at all? Thanks for any help.

Alt-tab is the keyboard shortcut for switching between programs in windows. That will still show up on either display, though. There is a way, when two displays are hooked up, to display a power point presentation on one display and use the other for configuration. The only problem is that you'll still have to switch to movie maker, which may or may not support this feature (i'd imagine not).

Your best bet may be to actually export your movie maker video to a file then insert it into your power point:

see this tutorial:

Good luck!

Microsoft power point slideshow wont open

Hello,

Your problem is either with your microsoft office installation, microsoft powerpoint installation or the powerpoint slideshow you are trying to open is damaged (or contains macros/virus etc) and thats why is taking long to open or doesn't open at all.

Recommendation #1: Do a repair install of the microsoft office you have now ( 2003 or 2007) You have to go to Control Panel-> Programs and Features-> select MS Office Proffesional 2003 or 2007 and click "repair" on the top bar of th Programs and Features toolbar.

Recommendation #2: In case the powerpoint slideshow is broken, see This link or This for more specific instructions.

I wan't to open power point

First off, you need to have a copy of PowerPoint Installed.
If you do, then in most cases you can click Start / All Programs / Microsoft Office / and click Power Point.

If you don't have powerpoint you can get the free powerpoint viewer to VIEW the slideshows without having powerpoint installed.

If you need to open a powerpoint slideshow and don't own microsoft office you will have to purchase a copy from almost any computer store.

If you have to make a slide show and don't have Microsoft Office you can always use the FREE OpenOffice software that can open most MS Office documents and has all the same features as MS Office.

How can I make slideshows for youtube?

Youtube only accepts video formats like MP4, AVI, FLV, so you have to make a video slideshow.

To make a video slideshow, you can first make a PowerPoint slideshow with your Microsoft PowerPoint, if you are using PowerPoint 2010, you can save your slideshow to wmv video directly, if you are using PowerPoint 2007 or a lower PowerPoint version, you can use a powerpoint to video converter like

Moyea PPT to Video Converter
http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/
Leawo PowerPoint to Video
http://www.leawo.com/powerpoint-video-converter/

After the conversion, you can upload the video slideshow to youtube smoothly.

I have a Optoma PK102 portable projector and I cannot play any power point presentation which is loaded onto the device - any advsie on what is going wrong

Ahoy there. I have the Aaxa P2 and they told me to convert all the powerpoint slides to jpg first and then use the onboard media player's slideshow feature. It works great. I don't know if the pk102 has the same features but I hope that helps. If not you might want to consider getting a different one.

Hitachi cp-s240 remote question

Hitachi data projectors are able to function as a mouse using either the USB port or the control port located on the back of the projector.

However, they are not intended to be used as a remote presenter. This means that although you can use the remote as a mouse, you will not be able to change slides in a full screen slide show using powerpoint.

I recommend the Targus remote presenter for this purpose. This device will function as a mouse, pointing device, and will allow you to change slides in powerpoint. In addition, it's inexpensive, wireless, and small enough to easily fit in your pocket.

Need to do powerpoint program

You can't. Powerpoint is a Microsoft program that must be installed on your machine. If you want a free version or a slideshow program (such as powerpoint), you can download OpenOffice for free. The program is called Impress.
