Yesterday morning I got up and tried to turn my xbox on. It didn't. I checked the power adapter for it and found that the red reset switch had popped up. I thought it was no big problem and pushed it back down. My xbox worked all day. This morning it did the same thing. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the adapter.

Re: AC Adapter on !ORIGINAL! XBOX (not 360)
This could be the case if you need to replace the ac adapter its called a figer of eight mains lead, but the problem could be somethingElse if you have lots of plugs on one socket this could case a problem with a short surge ruining to the xbox and popping the red button out try using the box on one power point on its own with nothing Else even if this means running an extension cable from the hallway or kitchen, if it pops again then look at the mains lead. if it does not pop is ur power point (plug/s where you have the xbox pluged in). i hope this help cheers

Your Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter may be damaged, or you might be to far away from your modem or router. Make sure your Wireless Adapter's antenna is up, and it is plugged in into the back of your Xbox 360. If you are using a wired Ethernet cord, the cord can be damaged. Check the end of both sides, and make sure nothing is dislocated. If it is, you might have to a local store and buy a new one.
It is possible that there is some foreign particles inside one of the connectors. Since the power supply does come apart and also disconnects from the unit, you can try to clean it to see if it will sort out your problem. Here's what to try:
1. Disconnect the AC adapter from the wall and the console. Let it rest for a few hours so that you do not electrocute yourself.
2. Disconnect the wall power cord from the AC adapter brick. Check the connections on both ends to see if it needs to be cleaned.
3. Clean any ends of the adapter with alcohol solution (isopropyl, or "rubbing" alcohol). Make sure the connection to the console is clean as well. Allow to dry.
4. Reconnect all necessary parts and try your console again.
If that does not work, there could be another problem with power flow to the AC adapter or a problem with the adapter itself.
Sounds to me like the main board is bad. Last step to try just to be sure. Try another AC Adapter on your 360 and if it still doesn't work then you know the main board is bad. Also try just plugging in your ac adapter and see if the green light goes away or if it turns orange. Those are sure signs that the main board is shorting out the ac adapter. Also hook up the 360 to another power outlet.
Try using different sorts of discs in the xbox, original xbox games, xbox 360 games, dvds, etc, and if nothing reads in the unit, you need to replace the laser assembly. But seeing how the unit is less than a year old, take it back to retailer or send to microsoft. Good Luck.
Try moving everything to a different room on a different electrical circuit (as in electric panel outside your house). You might have too much load on that circuit for the plugs in that room. You could try unplugging everything except tv and xbox too.
