Question about Makita Drills
Hi, I've had this Makita Percussion Drill for 1 1/2 years. A few days ago, after a fairly long drilling session to put some shelves up, the hammer/percussion switch on top of the machine jammed: I can no longer move it from the ''hammer'' to the ''drill'' position. I opened the machine but can't see any obvious damage - it just looks like the ball bearing that would normally swivel round into the hole where the drill head sits (and so pushes the head away from the cogwheels that cause the hammer action) no longer fits through.
I looked at Makitausa.com website and it appears that you might be correct. there are 4 parts to this assembly and one of the problems might be the cam holder position #17. I would suggest that you go to their site and take a look at how the parts are supposed to be. I used the model number in the large header so this might not be the exact one that you have. Let me know and I will try and help further.
