check to see if you have a the fan running in the freezer, if not replace fan. if fan is running do you frost on the back wall of freezer, if so defrost by opening door for 3 to 4 hrs. turn back on and if frost returns in 3 to 4 days call for service
The Amana with model number SCD25TW does not have a water filter. You would have to install an in-line filter on the water supply line if you want to filter the water. If your talking about the model number ARS266ZBS, then open the refrigerator door and look at the top right hand side. You should see a filter housing with a tab to release. Once released you have to remove the filter from the housing to replace it. When finished be sure to run about a gallon through the dispenser, to flush any air out of the system.
you need to replace the ptc overload relay contactor thats mounted on the compressors side body, they just unplug, then get an equivilent replacement from the appliance parts house or dealer and plug it in and it will be fixed
compressor is not running probably . the relay's may failed . it may also have a aditive defrost system and it's failed and stuck in defrost . I think you need to call a service tec . to get it going **** ..
. The most common problem is a bad start relay on the compressor. In rare cases the compressor may be bad. If you are mechanically inclined you can replace the relay yourself for less than 50 dollars. You will need model and serial number off of the unit and order the part by those numbers. if the compressor is bad you will need to hire a good service company
It sounds like the same problem my brother is having with his. I took it apart and found that the fan that moves all the air for cooling is not working. This fan is behind the bottom panel in the freezer side, and sorry you do have to take everything out to get to it.
