Logging into Yahoo mail results in "opening page about: blank" IE browser hang.
This is not caused by a virus, trojan, spyware or anything like that! Yahoo have been making changes to the appearance of their home page and also their e-mail, you've probably seen the new choices.
As a result, the screen resolution of 800 x 600 on many PCs will no-longer allow you to sign in without the "opening page about: blank" IE browser hanging problem.
Try changing your screen resolution to 1024 x 768, that should cure it!
Right click on desktop / Properties / Settings and move slider to 1024 x 768

I put in my user name and password .could not enter

It is not uncommon for users to forget their user names and passwords, especially when trying to access an email account not often used.
Email providers like Yahoo! and Google are aware that users forget and have implemented a way to identify the user in this situation. In order to use this retrieval method, you must have submitted an alternate email address when you signed up for that email.

Go to the email sign-in page. Notice the option underneath the login fields for users that have trouble signing in; in Yahoo! Mail this option is "I forgot my Yahoo! ID" and in Google Gmail this option is "Can't Access Your Account."
Click this option.
Enter the alternate email address entered when you set up up your email address.
Yahoo! Mail users also need to enter the birth date, country and postal code entered when the email address was set up. Click "Next."

Log in to your alternative email address and click the email provided.
Your email user name is available in the body of the email.
Click the link within that email to reset your email password.
To reset your email password, the provider might require that you answer your security question.
Go back to the email sign-in page and log in using your user name and new password.

When I type in my user name and password it reads "invalid user name or password"

When a message states that way it just means that you entered either the username or the password incorrectly. If you tried it several times and still didn't work.Try to click the link in the yahoo sign in page that says forget password. Then it will bring you to another screen that requires you to enter the security question and answer you chose when signing up your yahoo mail..If you can't remember those ,you need to sign up another one and don't forget to remember the information you entered when signing up your yahoo mail..Hope this helps.

Cannot get into my yahoo mail

There was an outage of Yahoo mail around when this was posted. It affected several million users so most likely it was the cause of the problem.
To check for service outages, visit Yahoo mail's blog at: http://www.ymailblog.com/
If you're still having issues, you can also try logging into Yahoo classic. If the problem is related to forgotten user name or passwords or if your account was compromised or hacked, you can visit the login help page: https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot
Please leave feedback if this was helpful, thanks.

I am a long time user of yahoo.com. Unable to access yahoo mail I can not remember password

Go to log on page for Yahoo Email, type in User Name, then click on "Forgot My Password", (right under User Name), they will send you your Password to the Email Account you used when you registered with Yahoo.

(If you really don't have anything in your old Yahoo Email account you wanted to save, just re-register with a different User Name).

I cant login to yahoo.

why, you can't log in your yahoo, is either your password or user name is not correct or properly entered. So check if you enter the right password or user name to log in. Because there is no way you enter the right user name and password and you can't in.be sure of what detail you use in creating your account.

I can't log onto Yahoo Mail

I don't know why the problem of not being able to log into Yahoo email accounts exists, but you're not alone.

If you know that the problem is not you entering an incorrect user name or password, there is a work-around to get into Yahoo mail. And, it takes less than 5 minutes to set it all up.

Every time I've recommended this solution to someone for their Yahoo Mail problem, it's worked.

The easiest way to sign into your Yahoo email account is to use Firefox as your browser and download the Webmail notifier add-on for Firefox.

With the click of a mouse, you'll be sent directly to your Yahoo email page without having to manually sign in to Yahoo.

Click here for Firefox download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4490

To add Webmail Notifier it to your Firefox toolbar click here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4490

1) After downloading and re-starting Firefox, right click in an empty area on your TOP toolbar in Firefox and select, 'Customize.' (A window with icons will open.)

2) Locate and drag the envelope icon to your upper toolbar and click, 'Done'.

3) Once the envelope is seated on the toolbar, right click on the envelope icon and choose, 'Options'. (A window will open.)

4) Select, Yahoo from the drop down menu.

5) Type in your full email address in the 'User Name' box.

6) Type in your Yahoo mail password in the password box.

7) Click, Add

8) Make sure 'Enable Login' is checked that the bottom.

9) Click, OK.

Now, when you want to go to your Yahoo email just click on the little envelope icon and you'll be sent straight to your email page in Yahoo.

- I forgot to add, the envelope will be gray when you don't have any unread emails, but turns yellow when you do.

If you found this information helpful, please give me a big thumbs-up when you rate my answer. Thanks!
