Question about Euro-Pro F1066 Deep Fryer
Once I drop the basket and set the timer, it doesn't return to temp. If I unplug the fryer and reset the temp, it will then heat up again. Also, if I don't use the timer the thermostat/heating element works as it's supposed to. I wish the thing just worked!! I also had a problem where the one wire to the heating element was getting so hot it was glowing orange (and smoking) until it finally burnt completely through at the connector. I fixed this by replacing the wire with a decent gauge and secure connection. I like the fryer in concept and design. I hate the fryer in quality of construction! I still use this fryer for now, but I'm afraid it might eventually burn my house down!
If your timer is connected to the t'stat, you may have an expensive project on your hands. However, in the meantime, I would just get an egg timer or a digital countdown timer and use it since it seems to operate fine without the timer.
