Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
This started two days ago i was playing call of duty when all of a sudden the game freezes, i restart it and then it would not show. first i thought may be it was the hd cable but i change it and it still did not show i then left it for like twenty minutes turn it back on and it will showed so i decided to go restore it but it froze before i could reach restore ps3. i spoke with a close friend and told him of the problem, funny thing is he has the same problem with his own and the problems began at least 2-3 months after his warranty expires, he sent it in and he had to pay an additional $200.00 dollars to have it fixed they sent him a new ps3 with a 90ty day warranty, then three months later right after the 90ty day warraty expired the same problem arose again and they told him to send it back in and of course he had to pay another $200.00 dollars to have it fixed. well it has been 2-3 months since my warranty expired and i am experiecing the same problems my friend is having, i called sony and they choose only to talk to me about sending it in to have it fixed with an additional 200.00 dollars on top of the 700.00 that i have already paid due to the fact it is out of warranty. i spoke with a supervisor and all he did was try to tell me what i wanted to hear but the thrut is and this is my opinion, i beleive sony is responsible for what is going on. either one out of two things they programmed it that way or they intterupted it from where they are because they told me that they could trouble shoot my ps3. the supervisor Rige extention#863 kept talking about servicing it like it was a ******* car and i kept getting angry, i probly would have sent it in but i believe sony is taking advantage of the good reputation they have with the world. my ps2 still works up to this day and thats three years going. i am fustrated and the world is in a resition right now and i more than ever is feeling it, i am not going to send in my ps3 and pay an additonal 200.00 on top of the 700.00 i have already paid but i will tell you this i am not taking this lying down and if anyone beats me to the punch in sending sony an action class law suite i will be more than happy to join that law suite. i beleive sony should stand behind their product i they said they would and make a full recall because if they dont i dont think their will be a ps4 because everyone is seeing they have been taken advantage of. although i explained my friends exact situation to the supervisor and told him that they have his ps3 right now trying to fix it, he kept telling me that the problem i brought to him is very knew and sony never had a complaint like that before even though i told him my friend has the same problem and he sent it in twice paying 200.00 dollars each time the supervisor did not care cause kept repeating the same thing and i read some of the comments and it looks like most of u are experiencing similar or have the same problem. if their is anyone out there that could fix my ps3 please help me because i have not even paid for it yet its on my credit card.
I had the same thing happen to mine ps3. i just did a full restor and now it works like theirs nothing wrong with it noww. it has been 1 month and it is fineee and it doesnt freeze anymore

I was having the same problem. Its COD WAW causing the problems. I had to restore mine to factory defaults 2 days after I played the game but now everything has been working fine. If you can't see anything to get to factory reset, you can turn your power off on the back and then turn it back on, hold your finger on the turn on switch on the front for about 3-4 secs til you hear 2 beeps and it should come up and let you restore from there. Thats what I done and its been 2mths now and still no problems. I was on the verge of sending it in til I found this solution online. Hope it helps!
