Question about ACCPAC Simply Accounting 2004 PRO (2120148) for PC

Instal simply accounting pro 2004

I used simply accounting 2004 pro in my computer running windows xp 32 bit, but when i use window vista 64 i can't install my simply anymore. it says "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. contact the software publisher". is there any way to install it? thanx

Hi iberlinson,

Simply Accounting 2002 may not be fully compatible with Vista. The 2008 and 2009 programs are compatible with Vista. You may want to try installing outside of C:Program Files if possible and make sure you save your Simply Company files outside of this location.

I had the same problem but it was with Simply 2007 running on a Windows XP computer. One day it just said "username and password are incorrect" even though I had just used it the day before with the exact same username and password (I am the administrator). I Googled all kinds of solutions to try, and finally this one worked. I simply did a Windows "System Restore" to the previous day. Once I did that, Simply Accounting allowed me to log in again. Therefore it tells me that the problem is one of two things...either the Windows database engine...or with some sort of Windows Update or other program update that interfered with the login process. The likelyhood is that it's a Windows system file involved in the database engine that was corrupt.

If you don't have automatic System Restore setup on your Windows computer however, then you are out of luck. The only possible solution (I haven't tried it) is to copy all the Simply database files to another working computer that "hopefully" doesn't have the same corrupt system files, and try to install and run the program and database from that computer, it may work.

You will probably need to upgrade to a later version of the software that is windows 7 compatible.However try running the program executable (the main file that opens the program) in XP compatability mode, that sometimes works.

Free download windows xp


The program was written in 1995. It was developed with max capability of 32 bit. The system fails at 64 bit. I wrote the update which made it compatible with XP, Vista and Win 7... 32 bit. I am considering trying to update the program to 64 bit but I'm not sure if the effort will be worth the time to achieve a working copy. In the long run it may shrink to its core functions which are the nice checkbook features. If you have an old 32 bit system around that will keep this great program functioning for a while.

We have p3 32 bit primvera s/w but laptop is 64 bit so how can i install it in my 64bit laptop. pls. solve

I looked for the specs on the software but could not find the system requirements. You might want to call Oracle and ask if the software is compatible with your Operating Sysytem (Vista, Windows 7). The phone number is 1-800-423-0245 While I was unable to find the official system requirements for Primavera's P3, from the few article I read on it, I don't believe that it is Vista or Windows 7 compatible. Also it is not really a 32 bit 64 bit issue, 64 bit systems run 32 bit software all the time, in fact there are many more 32 bit programs running on 64 bit systems than 64 bit software, due largely to the fact that the software companies are are just now starting to program 64 bit software. This is an Operating System compatibility issue. If you absolutely have to run P3, you might consider installing XP as an additional OS on your HDD with duel booting and running P3 in XP. Print Shop 21 will not work on Windows 7 operating system is there a fix?


When a ‘clean’ install is done of Print Shop 22, exactly as described in this FAQ

'Clean' Install on Win98/Me/XP/2000/Vista/Win7

Print Shop 22 should install on a 64-bit version of Windows 7, with two incidents.

1. If .NET Framework 1.1 is not already installed on the computer, the "Program Compatibility Assistant” in Windows 7 will display this message

To continue with the installation, select "Run Program". After .NET Framework 1.1 is installed, the necessary updates will be pulled from the Microsoft Windows Update Service.

2. After .NET Framework 1.1 is installed, the "Program Compatibility Assistant” in Windows 7 will display a message which says that there are compatibility issues with Print Shop 22 on Windows 7 64-bit. To continue with the installation of .NET Framework 1.1, select "Run Program".

I bought a new laptop from Dell. My old on is a desktop from Dell. I have a Belkin transfer cable. It is asking for a transfer key number. what is that????????

For Example two Pcs 1 is Xp and other pcs is Windows 7, then try to connect between both .

Another one more option is there for transfering the data between two systems either laptop or Desktop by a cross cable (LAN CABLE), buy a cross cable from shop and insert into RJ45 Socket (i.e lan socket) the try to transfer the datas.

I am trying to download PCAnywhere 12.0 to windows 7 and it tells me they are not compatible


That is correct Symantec list supported operating systems and Windows 7 is not compatible..

Just a tip


If yours is a PC, Windows Vsita 64 bit should recognize 4 GB RAM. Have you tried the 64 bit bootable linux? Try with that. If you see less than 4GB, then you must check your BIOS for some setting which is the setting to share to the graphics memory or some limit.

I am running Windows Vista 64 bit also and finding out that there are a lot of programs that won't run on a 64 bit machine due to the fact they are not supported for 64 bit, listed below is info to your problem,

Yes and no. Think of 'platform' as a general header when looking at operating architectures (there are different types) and Vista choices.
Vista choices under the 'platform' 32-bit are:
• Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit
• Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
• Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
• Windows Vista Business 32-bit
• Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit

Another example of the "64-bit platform" and Vista choices are:

• Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
