Flex connector that connects upper and lower panel seems to be the problem and needs a replacement, due to strong sliding up and down mechanism that might cause cut off the flex or ribbon.parts and service are available in any mobile service shop near you.
If the mobile has the history of dropping the phone, this can be fix by inserting the flex properly and fit, this may lose contact during the incident.you can fix it alone by unscrewing 4 screw at the upper back panel, lift up the cover, remove side buttons then lift up the main board and check the slot and clips which the flex connector is inserted. as well as doing it on upper panel.
If the mobile accidentally fell into water, just do the same way you open,Particularly on upper panel which keypad is not working, might corrosion, stained exists and need to clean the keypad membrane and the keypad interface.
If you think this method looks difficult to do, just ask assistance to any mobile service shop near you...Good luck
If you open your cellphone after falling it to water, its possible to damage the keypad circuit because of shorted happened in the circuit board when it fell, so better to look for a cellphone technician to troubleshoot it to avoid major problems.
Well... there is a problem with your keypad you must get your mobile repaired and thats the only why it work . you should thank god that your mobile phone is fine people use to say there phone a good bye after felling in water so i am sure it won't cost you much if you don't tell the person it was felling in water
Try putting the phone in a very warm dry place, ay in the "Hot water cupboard" for a day or so and this may drive out any moisture that may be causing the problems, also shake the phone vigorously B4 you do so to try and dislodge any moisture. Or you could try disassembly and wiping the keypad contacts, perhaps there is still moisture there, or maybe it has shorted something else which is why ya gotta dry it out completely.
Ok, You need some assistance for that. You should get some precision screws and unscrew your mobile.
The get a hair drier and put it on (Hot) or the Red button and start drying the Main board of your Sidekick.
But be careful with unscrewing your device, as you may forget some screws.
