Whats a laser-head cleaning disc - Televison & Video

if the discs did play before this happened you might need to have the laser inside cleaned,
get a laser disc cleaner and run that through it.

If there is no reading of the disc then there is no laser scanning and the possibility that the laser head can be defective.
Try to clean the laser head unit.
If other DVD are working except bluray discs then above seems otherwise we must recheck with possibilities of a malfunction of the main processor board

No disc indicates that the optical headd unit is clogged or faulty.Now if the optical is working the data will be read , if not there is no laser scanning and the possibility that the laser head can be defective.
Now certain cleaner disks will not be tracked to run for cleaning as it is not read. Hence it will reject. So it is ideal to clean manually the laser head eye using a cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.
If not the optical head is faulty

It means that the laser head is no longer getting a good signal - the lens is dirty and you must clean it by using a cleaning disk : $10 at Walmart.
If the clean doesn't help then the dust has been baked on the lens - in that case you must replace the entire laser head. Find one in un its sold for parts, or discarded ones. If you can't find a replacement head then the un it is dead.

I would NEVER use a cleaning disc as they tend to be abrasive and to be honest only any good for much older models where the laser is directly over the disc.

Most of todays models use mirrors etc so this does not clean the laser itself.

I would be looking at replacing the laser head or having it done by a pro as they are easy to pooch if you dont have the correct equiment

Either the laser is dirty and will need cleaning, or the laser has gone out. You can clean the laser eye with a q-tip and some alcohol. Lasers can be purchased online or ebay, but you will need to know which drive you have in order to get the correct laser.

For some reason some games on the 360 can be a bit tricky to say the least, if it were my console i would strip the machine down, strip out the dvd drive and open it up to clean the laser.

you can clean the laser with a good old cotton earbud and a bit of spit which is just as good if not better than the sprays you can buy.

another thing to do is adjust whats called the 'pots' these are little dials on the laser circuit board which control the power etc of the laser beam. i do have a guide on doing this and you can have it free if you need it.

Theres probably a spec of dust on the Laser.
