Dear alla_damu,
as long as at bootup you can also see your connected USB-devices, you can try booting to the pendrive using the F8 key on BIOS boot-posting. Then select the device you wish to boot from.
*Note: It might be F12 also, this depends on the make and model of your BIOS*
If system then won't start from your pen, and instead skips to CD or HDD, your BIOS won't support booting from USB through the on-demand menu.
Next, you might try going into your BIOS and setting the boot-order in your BIOS. If at reboot (after saving and exitting) the system still won't boot from your pen, it might just not do so, or you might be using a USB 1.1 pen on a USB 2.0 port, which CAN result in these kinds of trouble (not necessarily).
In the end, why would you want to install from a pendrive? install from CD/DVD works much better and cleaner. Install from a pendrive generally results in faulty HD-installs, as a result of dataloss during install.
Hope this works for ya and answers your questions.
Kind regards,
-Stephan

Yes, the base chipset is supported. Depending on the distro, you may be missing one or more drivers for stuff like audio.

I'd suggest you just try it and see what works.

Try it and see:

To boot from cd or pendrive, the device needs to be bootable. In otherwords to re install your Operating system, you will need an Operating System Disc.

Hello i m facing some problem i cant boot my windows through usb drive i will explain the process i have did to boot from usb drive. Before that i will give some information about my system please note...

Most of those Windows to USB applications are for creating an Windows USB installation, not actually installing an operational OS on the USB. Does that make sense?

You would have to run the setup and choose the drive to where to install the OS. This would mean you would have to do it from a CD/DVD disc or have two USB drives, but this may cause a conflict.

You need to make sure that the pendrive has a bootable copy of your operating system or it won't work. The way you seem to be using it is unusual. you would have to have installed the OS onto your pendrive instead of a hard drive.

As you stated the device works in one slot but not the other , tells you there is problem with that usb port , don't use those ports , best thing to do is purchase a PCI USB card if you need more USB ports .
