hi, these are thermal plastic sticker to make the thermal paste in tack and in place. as long as you know how to apply the thermal compound in the right way there's no need to replace it.

I can't find a decent manual for your computer but there will be 2 pins on the motherboard that will say BIOS Clear. Short these 2 pins and turn the computer on. This is the only way to bypass the BIOS password. This operation will clear the BIOS and reset to factory defaults. After the BIOS is cleared, turn the computer off and take off the short.
Try installing on top of its self. It may create another directory and rename the original Window (old). This however will cause you to lose your settings like installed apps and documents. They will be in the OLD folder, but not readily accessible on the new install.
