I recently bought a Nikon 8008s on E-bay. The camera works great, except for one problem: when using flash in TTL mode, the flash (Vivitar N-600) fires with very small power, resulting in severe underexposure. The same flash works just fine in TTL mode on my N-2000 and FE-2.
Question: Can this be because 8008s has a more sophisticated flash interface than these older cameras, and therefore is not totally compatible with the Vivitar flash? (I have not yet tried it with a Nikon speedlight). Did you ever encouter this problem?

Maybe you don't have the correct TTL module on your flash. I have seen different modules for the manual cameras advertised (for Sunpak models) than the more sophisticated autofocus cameras(just a thought). Maybe this would be true with the Vivatar models. I have used my 8008s with a Nikon SB28 and get perfect results.
