You can buy splitters from radio shack or many other electronic/sound shops which split a male or female phono jack to separate stereo or mono output jacks. The most common is a phono jack to two separate mono 1/8" plugs. One way would be to purchase one of these, cut the ends off the outputs and strip the insulation, then use those to wire your amp. "Monster" brand puts out some of these splitters as well which use heavier gauge wire which would probably be most suitable for the task.

I have just bought a soundstream pca1000d amp from.my friend but he did not have the remote bass nob so I was wondering where I could get it from

the bas control nob is just a grimack end a waste of money,You don,t need it because all the decks in the last 8 years have,Sub level control on them, Where you can adjust the level of bas from the (Deck) All your asking for to happen, Buy all so useing the bas control for the amp, Is to (Blow) Your (Subs) End fry your amp, When you use both of them for controling the bass, You are causeing the sub end the amp to over heat, I installed car audio for over 40 years , before i retired this summer, End seen lots of amps end subs that were damage, Buy guys haveing them hookup all so,End anouther thing that damage subs end amps, When they have the grain control on the amp crank right up.

Im tryin to hookup aftermarket subs but the lineout converter isnt working, it sounds like alot of treble comin outt of the subwoofers. is there anyway to find a low frequency wire to tap into for the subs

instead of finding a low frequency line to attach to your LOC (line output convertor) use the built in crossover on yours subwoofer amp or an external crossover to limit the frequency range going to the subs

I need to know how to wire this to my amp i have never wired a 3 way system and i need to know if i do any thing different

Typically on these units there is only one hookup for the amp or a left and right hookup. The crossovers are already inside the speaker box and will send the highs to the tweeters and the lows to the subs. Make sure that if you amp has an adjustable crossover that it is set to full so that all frequencies go to the speaker box.

I just needed some help with wiring my p8002 rockford amp to 2 fosgate 10 inch subs i just bought. there 4 ohms a piece and dual voice coil. i dont know much about car stereos but people keep telling me...

Well i tried looking up that amp, but Fosgate sight is down. So assuming that the best power out of your amp is 2ohms off the bridged hookup, and the subs are 4 ohms per coil, the best way is to only use one side of each speaker and hook it straight the the bridge. Only using one hook up wont hurt anything, its just for giving you wiring options. And when adding up ohms of speakers, it goes like this. If you had two 4 ohm subs, that'll give you a 2 ohm load. If you hooked up all your hookups, it would be like having four 4 ohm subs, and would give you a 1 ohm load.

Shuts off when the volume gets turned up didnt do this wen new

A mono amp usually can handle only two 4 ohm subs. You see when you hook up two subs in parallel it drops the ohms too 2 ohms and 3 in parellal drops it to 1 ohms overheating the amp and cause power failure. Unless you bought a Mono amp thats 1ohm stable. But still I've seen cheap 1 ohm stable amps not last long. Also possible your subs are fried too check them with a multimeter and measure each sub ohms.

Jl 12w3v3 started smoking after hookup

Dang man you roasted it, take it in and get it replaced.Check the gain on the amp try it at 1/3 to 1/2 gain and dont crank up the bass boost all the way try it at like 2/3 that should clean up your sound and cut down distortion-distortion kills subs by heat.

Memphis PR300.2 Amp protect light on

If it is not turning on your problem is it is not getting power. Check your fuses. The reason an amp goes into protect mode is usually because the subs are not wired up right. Make sure your fuses are good, you have a good ground, and make sure your amp turn on wire didn't come loose when you were putting the deck back in. As for the amp going into protect you probably wired the subs down to too few ohms and the amp you have can't handle it. Try hooking the subs up straight w/o bridgeing them and turn it up to see if it works. If you don't have problems with it then you wired your subs wrong.

Deck installation

Does you sub amp have an RCA out on it? If it does you can use that one, If not go to radio shack and pick up and rca spliter. It has two input holes white and red/ leftor right and turn it in to four outputs or 2 other channels. Good Luck.
