Maybe you must reset the bios in the motherboard. try to open your system then look for a 3 pin in the motherboard near in the CMOS battery.. it has a number 1,2 and 3 it is called jumper settings.... try to put the pin in number 2 and 3 then w8 after 10 seconds then gput it back to 1 and 2 in try to boot up.. ^^ i wish this could be help.. ^^

From what I can tell the Dell Precision Workstation 670 does support over 4GB of RAM. However when you have over 4GB of RAM installed in the system you have to have the Memory Cooling Shroud connected to keep the memory cool. Also this is only shipped out when the system is ordered with over 4GB of RAM originally. If you do not have this part you can order it from Dell buy calling 877-671-3355.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Hi I have inherited an asus m2n mxse mobo with an unknown cpu in and fan, supposedly working. I have a stick of 1 gb kingston ram (DDR2-800 KVR800D2NG) in 1 slot. The board won't start, even into bios,it...

pj, the manual specifies, See page Viii and page
1-3. for the memory supported by the M2M-MX SE MB uses: Dual-channel memory. 2x240-pin DIMM up to a max of 2GB. Non-ECC 800/667/533 MHz
All dual channel memory comes in pairs. Also see page 1-13 before installing you're memory.
SS memory should be inserted into DIMM_1.
DS memory should be inserted into DIMM__1 and DIMM_2.
Provided below is Asus updated QVL list.
http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socketAM2/M2N-MX%20SE/M2N-MX_SE_QVL.pdf
If you wish to install Kingston you'll need to buy,
KVR800D2NG not KVR800D2N5 as shown in the QVL list. Ran a search through Kingston’s site. Seems the memory you bought is not supportive for Asus MBs.

Cheers'

Add paired ram, system will not boot

could be a bad ram stick, or a stuck stick not all the way seeded in the board, check these things and if all else fails, try new ram, even new memory can be faulty, like try installing 1 stick then boot, then other stick and vice versa, until you find which stick is bad

Gigabyte ep45ud3p will not boot just installed

A friend of mine just purchased one of these boards and is extremely impressed with it but when he first bought it he bought some lower grade ram and had a lot of troubles with it. He went to Kingston ram DDR2 1366 and it ran perfectly. I don't know what kind you bought but the board is very picky about the ram. The other thing to try is unplugging the hard drives, cdrom and any add on cards except video and see if it boots. up. If this works then add your harddrives, cd and addons back one at a time.

1GB seen as 512Mb

I think you are right, you have to update your BIOS, or try to change your Kingston to Super Talent or other compatible with your motherboard ram. Good luck!

Bios changes

What are you changing? The motherboard or one of the peripherals such as memory or video card or drive controller may not like the setting or may be incompatible with certain options causing the problem. You may also want to see if there is a bios update to address the issue.

Good luck.

Installed new RAM, PC would not boot up.

Will the PC boot? It may just be loose. Try it again. The PC may not boot if it does'nt recognize the memory.
