Question about HP Photosmart E317 Digital Camera
Why does my camera batterys go dead and i only take 15 pictures.and everytime i use it i take the batterys out and samething happens. whats up
We made need some more information on this but I'll give you some tips as to what could be happening:
Firstly, digital cameras are a 'high-load' device for batteries. If you compare devices, at the bottom of the list you'd have things like clocks and radios, extremely low-load device that need little power to run. Then you have things like torches and portable CD players and mechanical/robotic toys which have a medium drain on batteries. Then there's digital cameras and flashes and remote control cars that have a high power demand.
Although rechargable batteries supply 1.2v which is easily measured, it's the rate that that 1.2v can be constantly supplied to the device that rates the batteries power capacity, and it's this power that is hard to measure.
Rechargable batteries, especially NiMh type, have a limited amount of charges. Doesn't matter if the battery is flat or not, if you charge it, it's deteriorating. At the end of the batteries life you may charge it and it may have a full 1.2v, but no power to back that up.
Next time you're in the shops, look at the different types of rechargable batteries and notice either on the packaging or the battery they rate the power of the batteries in mAh (milli amp hours) - the higher the better, and the dearer.
OK, "IF" you're using rechargables, that may cover that.
If you're not, well, first up put some 'Alkaline' batteries in the camera and try that. Do not use el-cheapos like Eveready Red or Blacks (the 'Energizers' are good, as are Duracell). The key is, look for the 'Alkaline' label when getting disposable batteries for high-load equipment.
Please let us know if this does not solve your problem so we can investigate further.
