I added to memory a few months ago so that should't be the problem. I also upgraded my internet speed to the fastest Comcast has. I can't seem to find any virus on my computer - I am wondering if it is a driver or something that needs updating? It did this with DVDs for about 18 months but is just recently doing it with any other sounds...

It is not just tv... it is my itunes, or playing a cd or dvd on my computer... listening to radio, pandora or friends myspace music pages. The sound is fine for 10 seconds then sounds slow and warbled. I am trying to find if there is something wrong with my sound driver but I can't seem to see anything wrong with it.

    1) It was happening before I added the ram so I know it is not because of the new memory.

    2) I will try to restore my system - does that mean I will lose all my files on my computer?

    3) Audio Device Hardware Clock control - I am not sure what that is or how to find that out... is there an easy way to check this?

This case generally you may consider:
1) check your ram, clean the ram and slot, or change new ram
2) check your internet speed, cause sound slow if the speed down too much, or there are more than one conputer using your router at the same time
3) virus attact maybe damage your system files cause sound problem

there are two way to watch TV from computer

    1) online TV using a utility and internet, the sounds slower period that only cause the internet speed, (the download and upload speed) go down a period. you need to make sure the speed showing at on line screen. you may change other utility or using MSN online video hearing what happen?

    2) if using TV card, it maybe something wrong with your card driver

    3) you may check system -hardware -manager see all sound driver no yellow mark is ok.

so your sound slow at some different application, you need considering:

    1) you added a new memory a few month ago, sound got slow after ram added, you need check two ram should be same brand name and speed ( ns), you may take out each of them to test.

    2) sometimes windows system file damage could infect the basic device works. you may try restore your system.

    3) audio device hardware clock control circiute not stable it could cause this trouble, it is rare happen

    any question please feedback

only one way you can do system restore, you may back up your improtant files out to other storage.

all hardware trouble like clock control... is too tough for you..

This is most likely caused by a damaged or misaligned video drum and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

Tape speed distorts and slows

motor belts are cheap. try replacing the belt that drives the wheel. this become distorted specially when the unit has not been use for quit long time. if you think its not about belt, clean up the rubber that touches the tape when played, also the tape head with 70% alcohol. hope this help.

It sounds like your saying the gray lines are appearing on your camera and on the tv when you play from the camera but not on your brothers camera. It sounds like your heads are dirty. Get a head cleaner and you should be good to go. Please take a moment to rate my solution fixya.

Is this a HiFi stereo vcr? When you cleaned the heads, did you only do the heads on the rotating cylinder or only the fixed tracking/audio heads between the cylinder and the pich roller?

Does a prerecorded tape ( not a self recorded from that machine play ok?

HiFi vcrs default to the audio head(s) on the tracking/audio head if the HiFi heads on the rotating cylinder are dirty or damaged.

If a prerecorded tap palys fine, then the erase head circuit has failed.

If sound is weak and warbles, worse on SLP than SP, a weak VCR power supply.

Won't play tapes, just stays on the blue screen

ok. what you need to do it hit the side where the tape goes in...start out slow and then gradually hit harder and harder...not too hard though...because it sounds like a hardware need to unjam it by shaking it up a bit.

I've had a similar problem that I've solved using a head cleaner. I think it was about $20 at Target and is good for 30 cleanings.
