Question about Brother MFC-685cw InkJet Printer
I changed the cartridge but got an error saying no black cartridge?
I put it in & out several times but it still says the same thing
I had this problem and after shaking the cartridges (all of them) and putting them back, turning the machine on and off I noticed the printer wire was under one of the feet of the machine. One of these things worked and I believe it was the cable under the machine confusing the machine..............not very technical I know but just in case,,,,,,,,,,,fingers crossed

Tips for a great answer:
Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts
