Leaking Cold Water Shut off valve going into washer drum

When it is done washing it continues to drip from where the water goes into the drum. I then have to re-spin the clothes because they are so wet. The washer model # is 110-82873120

    Thank you SO MUCH

We haven't fixed it yet, we will let you know, but we were thinking it was some sort of valve. Thanks

The wash machine did need a water intake valve. Thank you for you help! The part was $35. Which is a lot cheaper than a new washer. : )

You have a bad valve. Tell the appliance dealer that you need a solenoid switch for your cold water inlet. It is only about 15 dollars. It is also pretty easy to replace.

Water is continually leaking into the tub from the inlets as a slow drip. This happens while the washer is off and continues forever unless the water supply is turned off. This is a stackable washer/dryer.

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.

Water leaking (dripping) into the drum when machine is off. Drip is coming from where water dispenses into the machine to fill the drum.

Hi just read your posting. The fault with your machine is a faulty water valve.1st turn off the cold tap to the machine and leave for a couple of hrs.If the dripping stops you have a faulty cold valve. If the dripping does not stop then turn off the hot tap and that should stop the leak.Either way to fix this fault a water valve must be replaced.Or you can stop the drip by just turning the taps off after the washing has finished.Hope this helps and please reply for further help if needed.

Dripping water from outlet in door that fills the washer

djam919,

Your water valve may be leaking. Can you tell if the water dripping is hot or cold?
Some washing machines have one dual valve for hot and cold water, and some will have separate valves. You must remove the top of your unit to find out if your have one or two valves.
To remove the top of the machine you need to remove 3 screws on the back of the unit at the very top, then the top should slide towards the back of the machine ( with a litle push ), now lift the top off the unit.

To determine what valve to replace first you must look on the back of you washer and locate the hot and cold connections, then shut off the one of the water lines coming to your machine at the wall valve, if it continue leaking then you can tell that the opposite valve is the problem. ( wait for about 10 min to make sure that the water leaking isn't just left over water in the hose).

Good Luck

You have a float valve that works much the same way that the float in your toilet tank works, either your float is leaking, (full of water), or the valve actuated by the float is bad.

Internal leak on a kenmore top load washer

Yes, very likely is a bad water inlet valve allowing water to leak past it into the drum. Really not a difficult repair with a little help.

its the problem of drum getting blocked by any clothes getting tucked up.also try to move the drum manually with the machine off.if it makes any noise its the faulty motor.or drum has lost its alignment.it needs to be reseated properly in that case. -------------- The water fill valve - The water fill valve is a mechanical and electrical part, the coils on the valve need electricity to mechanically open the valve to allow the water to flow into the washer....myth....the washer pumps water into itself...no, it does not. The fill valve opens and the house water pressure pushes the water into the washing machine.
No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. If the hot coils quits, you will still have cold water fill, cold water only on a warm setting and no water on a hot fill setting. You can test a fill valve live for 120 volts, power to a fill valve coil and no fill = a bad fill valve. You can also test the coils for continuity, no continuity = a bad fill valve. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. If you have to shut off the fill valves to stop the water from filling in the washer, you have a bad fill valve and you will have to replace it.

Leaking valve

can be either hot or cold valve - only way to tell is to turn off hot and cold water in turn. however, a common cause of water accumulating in drum is if drain is connected to sink spigot, then when you empty sink, some of the water goes into the machine. cure is to take drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck
