Question about HTC Touch Cell Phone (Unlocked) - Soft Black

HTC messaging disappeared

I have the HTC Touch, and love this phone, but recently, none of the messaging works. It's almost like it disappeared. My email, text and message alerts, including voicemail notifications are no more. When I touch the messaging icon, or try to access it or text, it doesn't respond. Please help.
Thanks

I have the exact same problem. I have been searching the internet for a solution and can't seem to find one. I even did the hard reset, that didn't work either. Can someone out there please help?

I have the same problem (not with the pad, but with the non-responsive messaging stuff). I'm discouraged to hear that hard reset doesn't work... Out of curiosity, had any of you guys installed wm5torage before the texting stopped working?

I had this problem ,also no notifications of voicemail as well as not being able to acces the messaging screen. I was just about to send the handset in for repair and decided to remove the 4gb micro sd card .turned the phone off ,removed the card, turned it on again ,bam messaging works again !! hope this can help someone else too :-)

Yes, taking the card may fix the problem too. The first HTC Touch I had had this problem and the HTC Toluch HD also have it, even though HTC and Microsoft had soem 2 years to fix it (come on guys, are you really that stupid at Microsoft?!) anyways... HTC told me some year ago that taking out the card and deleting the messaging related folder (I can't remember its name because I am inthe middle of the repair process :-P ) will fix the issue, but it will come back sooner or later, if you change the message storage location (somwhere in the settings) to built-in memory (and limit the attachment size) the problem does nto come back! Bon chance! Lawrence.

Yes, taking the card DID fix the problem. In fact, I forgot, as soon as I bought the new gizmo, I changed it to store messages on built in memory, but it seems this is different problem and a different solution. Anyways, it works now. Merci!

New message always on; touch keyboard disappears; no saved messag

This is a glitch found in many htc's due to windows programing once you have downloaded, saved and sent certain documents the phone spases out on tweak functions that would usually run just fine. Delete any file not being used and it should gradually start to work right and the are also know for overheating on the charger and long term use. Due from poor ventilation on the phone just like any lap top or computer.

try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. also, make sure you have the phone closed, it doesn't seem to play nice with opened phones.
