Question about Frigidaire GLEH1642DS Front Load Stacked Washer/Dryer
Washer will not spin or drain
I've had that problem twice in the last decade. In both cases it was the water inlet valve. That's the gizmo that both water hoses are connected to on the back. You'll need an ohm meter to see if the valve is good; if it's bad, it's really simple to replace it, and costs around $30. (Of course you'll need the make/model of youjr washer to buy the part.)
Scoop the water out of the tub and move the washer out so you have access to the back. Remove both hoses from the washer and unscrew the back panel. Disconnect the leads from both terminals of the valve solenoids. Set your OHM meter on RX1 and probe both leads on a solenoid (do this for both solenoids). The reading will be between 100 - 1,000 for good solenoids.
I've found the absolute best book for repairs is the New Fix-It-Yourself Manual by Reader's Digest. Excellent drawings, troubleshooting, and instructions. I bought mine about 1996, and this year online, I bought 3 used books in excellent condition for my kids.
