Question about Acer Aspire 5520-5908 Notebook

Low usb power out

Every so often ( meaning irratically, but often) the light on the middle click button on my usb powered optical mouse will dim and the on-screen cursor will begin to move in a jagged manner. The mouse is the only item plugged into a usb port. I am doing nothing special. It happens when the fan runs and when it doesn't. It's happened running applications and not running applications. If I disable all other usb ports will all power route to the one with the mouse?

For long life battery:

-Don't play computer games, music or DVD movies - Multimedia activities drain laptop batteries.

-Disconnect all external device like PC Card modems, Firewire, USB devices and optical drives. Use the notebook touchpad instead of an external mouse.

-Adjust your screen brightness - Dimming your display saves battery power.

-Tweak Windows Power Options - Choose a Laptop power scheme that turns off the notebook monitor and hard disk after 10 minutes of inactivity.

-Decrease or mute the Laptop Speaker Volume.

-Programs that are run from a CD or DVD can be copied to and run from the hard drive, which typically consumes less power than an optical drive.

I have a problem with the mouse for 5euro This technique tknm110 mouse and the problem that I have a normally lit mouse is a optical mouse, but mouse does not work ... it's two the same, at first I...

Hello ania1997,
I've seen this 'problem' before.
First, disconnect the "Mouse."
Next, click on the "Start Button."
Now, click on the "Control Panel," in the 'start menu'.
Scroll in the Control Panel, and select the "Mouse" applet!
Open the [Mouse Properties], by 2x clicking or,
Right clicking,and open.
From here you want to [Disable the Touchpad Device].
!Beware, that now, you may have to "Manually Navigate."
Without the 'mouse; you will use the "Tab, Arrows, and 'Enter' buttons,
to perform tasks, if the 'optical mouse' doesn't work the first time.
"Restart the computer."
Connect the "Optical Mouse."
"The {Mouse should be detected automatically}."
If you need help with anything else?
"Write a 'comment'; I'll be here to assist you!"
"Best Regards"

Mouse pad stalls and i see a little red light on the mouse pad....i have a compaq laptop but not sure what version...how do i disable thi feature so i dont have to use a physical mouse

The little red light is likely from the red LED underneath your optical mouse. If the mouse cursor/pointer on the screen is jerky, it may mean the mouse pad is dirty and/or if the mouse is wireless, its battery is low and should be replaced. Most laptops have a touchpad as part of the keyboard. If you want to use that instead of a physical mouse, just put the physical mouse away and use the touchpad. Both should be active unless the touchpad was disabled. If the touchpad is disabled, you can re-enable it by clicking on control panel > mouse > device settings tab > enable button.

Will not power up

there is a known issue with the GPU on these boards going out. thats why you have the strange rolling on the screen. i have sent some units in to hp to get new motherboards.

send it in, after that i believe you will at least have 90 days on the repair.

call hp and they will send you a box, you should get it back in 7-10 biz days last i checked.

in some cases on the s3000 series they have added an extended 12 mos to original purchase dat or before 12.31.09 whatever is first.

get it done now before its too late

Good Luck!
Ruben
